Job description

Play a vital role in improving housing conditions and energy efficiency for low-income families by joining Blue Valley Community Action Partnership as a Weatherization Crew Specialist based out of Fairbury, NE. This position involves coordinating and performing housing rehabilitation and weatherization tasks to achieve program objectives.

Employees typically work a 36-hour schedule over four days, Monday through Thursday. Due to operational and program needs, employees may occasionally be required to work on Fridays and adjust their weekly schedule as needed.

As a Weatherization Crew Specialist, you will:

  • Perform weatherization tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with program requirements and maintain documentation.
  • Coordinate schedules with participants, inspectors, and team members.
  • Support the Weatherization Program Director and other department needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Weatherization tasks may include: insulation, window/door repair, blower door tests, infiltration and venting work, lead safe practices
  • Recording and maintaining accurate records
  • Communicating professionally and effectively with clients, inspectors and team members.
  • Working collaboratively with other departmental teams.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1 year of experience in building sciences, property management, or maintenance preferred.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Valid driverโ€™s license and access to an insured vehicle.
  • Must demonstrate strong teamwork, organizational, and communication skills.
