Position Summary

The Security Guard is responsible for monitoring the parking lot, exterior areas, and facility entrances to help maintain a safe and secure manufacturing environment. This position checks employees, visitors, vendors, contractors, and delivery personnel in and out of the facility, verifies authorization before entry, and helps ensure that no unauthorized individuals or vehicles access company property. This is a regular security guard position.

The Security Guard will not carry firearms or weapons and may only carry approved basic equipment, such as a flashlight, as assigned by the company.

Key Responsibilities

· Monitor the parking lot, exterior building areas, entry doors, visitor entrances, and assigned access points.

· Check employees, visitors, vendors, contractors, and delivery personnel in and out according to company procedures.

· Verify identification, appointments, visitor logs, badges, and authorization before allowing entry into the facility.

· Ensure no unauthorized individuals enter the building, production areas, warehouse, or restricted areas.

· Monitor parking areas to ensure only authorized vehicles are parked on company property.

· Identify and report unauthorized vehicles, improperly parked vehicles, or vehicles blocking entrances, exits, fire lanes, loading docks, or emergency access areas.

· Maintain accurate logs of visitor activity, vehicle activity, deliveries, incidents, and other security-related activity.

· Conduct routine walking patrols of the parking lot and exterior facility areas to identify safety, security, or parking concerns.

· Report suspicious activity, unauthorized access attempts, property damage, safety hazards, parking violations, or policy violations to the appropriate supervisor or management team.

· Assist with directing traffic, parking, vendor access, and delivery flow when needed.

· Support emergency response procedures, including evacuations, alarms, medical incidents, or other safety events.

· Follow all company security procedures, USDA requirements, GMPs, food safety rules, and site-specific policies.

· Maintain a professional, calm, and respectful demeanor when interacting with employees, visitors, vendors, contractors, truck drivers, and delivery personnel.

· Carry only approved company-authorized equipment, such as a flashlight. Firearms, weapons, or other unauthorized security equipment are not permitted.

· Escalate concerns immediately to management, HR, Safety, or law enforcement when appropriate.

· Maintain confidentiality regarding company operations, employee information, visitor activity, vehicle information, and security matters.

Qualifications

· High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

· Previous security, access control, manufacturing, warehouse, or food facility experience preferred.

· Ability to remain alert, observant, and professional during the assigned shift.

· Strong communication and customer service skills.

· Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

· Ability to document information accurately and complete visitor, vehicle, and incident logs.

· Must be reliable, punctual, and able to maintain a professional presence.

· Ability to stand, walk, and patrol outdoor areas for extended periods.

· Must be able to work in various weather conditions when monitoring exterior areas.

· Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required.

Work Environment

This position works primarily around the exterior of a food manufacturing facility, including the parking lot, facility entrances, guard station, visitor entrance, loading areas, and surrounding building areas. The role requires regular interaction with employees, visitors, vendors, truck drivers, contractors, and delivery personnel. The Security Guard may be exposed to outdoor weather conditions while monitoring parking and exterior facility areas.

Physical Requirements

· Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

· Ability to patrol parking lots and exterior areas of the facility.

· Ability to work outdoors in heat, cold, rain, or other weather conditions.

· Ability to communicate clearly in person and by phone or radio.

· Ability to observe and report safety, security, parking, or access control concerns.

· Ability to carry basic approved equipment, such as a flashlight.
