Northrop Grumman's Space Sector is seeking a Systems Engineer: Mission Modeling Simulation - Level 4 to join our team in Chandler, AZ.
This position will support missionlevel and systemlevel modeling, simulation, and analysis for advancedmissile and interceptor systems. In this role, you will support complex architecture and simulation frameworks, drive mission engineering and operations analysis, and perform trade studies that shape system architectures, requirements, and concepts of operation. You will be a key technical contributor who collaborates across disciplines and engages directly with program and customer leadership.

This position is 100% on site in Chandler, AZ (strongly preferred). Remote candidates may also be considered

You will work with systems, GNC, seeker/sensor, software, mission, and integration & test engineers to:

  • Develop and integratemissionlevel and systemlevel performance models, algorithms, and simulations of missiles, interceptors, sensors, threats, and commandandcontrol systems

  • Performoperations and behavior analysis, mission effectiveness studies, and assess architecture alternatives for delivering an effect or capability within a broader campaign, including endtoend engagement and campaignlevel assessments

  • Integrate and use graphical user interfaces and visualization tools

  • Link operational mission needs and analysis results to support development of system and subsystem requirements, engineering analyses, performance metrics, test strategies, documentation / reports, and content for specifications and reviews

  • Develop and present analysisbacked recommendations that influence architecture trades, CONOPS, and Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs)

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 8 years of professional experience in systems engineering or modeling and simulation - OR - Master's degree and 6 years; or Ph.D. and4 years

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.

  • Must have an active U.S. Government Secret security clearance

  • Demonstrated experience supportingmissionlevel and systemlevel modeling and simulationfor missile/interceptor or integrated air and missile defense programs

  • Handson experience withoperations analysis and virtual simulation toolssuch as AFSIM, NGTS, Brawler, STK, MATLAB/Simulink, or similar environments

  • Strong background inprobability, statistics, and design of experimentsapplied to weapon system and mission performance

  • Demonstrated experience supportingtechnical teams, defining MS&A plans, and reviewing/approving models, assumptions, and analysis results

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to obtain and maintainTop Secret and/or Special Access Program (SAP) access; active TS/SAP is highly preferred

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including briefing complex analysis outcomes to program and customer leadership

  • Demonstrated resolve to drive tasks to completion, both independently and in collaborative teams, and possess strong mentoring / training skills

  • Experience inone or moreof the following areas:

    • Missile/interceptorGNCand tracking/estimation (Kalman filtering, particle filtering, optimal estimation theory)

    • RF or EO/IRseeker/sensor modeling

    • Integrated air defense systems (IADS)or threat modeling

    • Electronic attack, electronic protection, and countermeasuresmodeling

    • Survivability, lethality, and vulnerability analysis at the weapon or mission level

  • Experience withModelBased Systems Engineering (MBSE)and digital engineering, integrating MS&A into system architecture and requirements flow down

  • Experience definingTTPs and CONOPSusing missionlevel simulations and killchain analysis

  • Proficiency inMATLAB, Python, C/C++or similar languages for algorithm development, model integration, scripting, and data analysis

  • Demonstrated ability to drive improvements inMS&A tools, visualization frameworks, and data analysis workflows

Primary Level Salary Range: $122,800.00 - $184,200.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
