EPWA fosters an inclusive environment that offers opportunities for our associates to learn, grow and enhance their skills to take on new challenges to progress in their professional careers.
The Advanced Wealth Strategist is responsible for analyzing client asset portfolios, tax circumstances, and for developing and delivering practical, executable estate, income, gift, and charitable planning strategies through client-ready deliverables and meetings. The role includes significant client and prospect-facing responsibilities, partnering closely with Family Office Services, Advisors, and Wealth Management Services teams to support wealth transfer strategies for ultra high-net-worth clients, typically with at least $25 million in Assets Under Management (AUM), and with complexity across advanced estate planning, tax, business, real estate, and family governance matters.
This role is designated as a remote position within the Southwest division (Southern California) and requires the ability to attend onsite client engagements and in-office meetings in Torrance, California.
Responsibilities:

  • Design, evaluate, and implement multi-year wealth transfer strategies tailored to client objectives, clearly comparing alternative advanced planning options and communicating associated tradeoffs to support informed client decision-making.
  • Participate in Family Office Services strategy discussions and internal client planning meetings.
  • Lead and support strategy recommendations requiring coordination across internal teams and external professionals, including CPAs and attorneys, and facilitate implementation through completion.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Advisors, investment teams, WMS, and other EP Wealth departments to deliver integrated, holistic wealth strategies.
  • Serve as a Service Offering Team Lead and/or firm subject matter expert, contributing to the development and execution of multiple service offerings and understanding cross-service integration.
  • Be available for in-person client, prospect, and firm initiatives as needed.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external professionals, including attorneys and tax advisors, to support effective execution of client strategies.
  • Perform additional related duties as needed to support business development, client retention, and firm growth objectives.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, maintaining a consistent focus on quality, professionalism, and compliance.

  • CFP Designation and at least one additional designation/area of specialty are required
  • Minimum 10 years client-facing experience in financial services or related field
  • Bachelor's degree required from an accredited university
  • Advanced Degree or licensing is a plus
  • Proficient knowledge in real estate, business, and estate planning documents
  • Demonstrated knowledge of eMoney, Microsoft Office, Monday.com, and Salesforce CRM software
  • Familiarity with Vanilla, Wealth.com, or other AI-enabled planning technologies is a plus
