About the Role

As the Associate Portfolio Manager, youโ€™ll support the investment team throughout the portfolio management process, including portfolio monitoring, reporting, analysis, and trading operations. This role works closely with portfolio management, advisors, and internal teams to ensure client portfolios are accurately maintained and aligned with investment objectives. This is a strong opportunity for a detail-oriented, analytical candidate who can manage multiple portfolios in a collaborative team environment.

This is a hybrid position based in Richmond, VA and reports to the Director of Portfolio Management.

Key Responsibilities

Portfolio Management Support
  • Maintain accurate client portfolios by monitoring liquidity needs, clientspecific restrictions, portfolio positioning, and alignment with investment objectives
  • Support the implementation of investment strategies to transition new and existing clients to the Firmโ€™s investment strategy
  • Prepare portfolio reviews, rebalance portfolios, generate proposals, and monitor investment model changes across multiple client accounts
  • Assist in the analysis of securities, account transitions, and cash flow activities, while helping to identify potential investment risks and propose risk mitigation measures to management
  • Trading Operations
  • Execute daily, monthly, and annual trading operation processes including data integrity maintenance, reconciliation, and trade settlement troubleshooting
  • Resolve trade errors with custodians and internal teams to ensure best execution of complex trades
  • Reporting Analysis & Risk Monitoring

  • Prepare regular exposure and risk reports to support portfolio oversight and advisor review
  • Apply economic and market trends and companyspecific financial data to assist portfolio management team with buying and selling of stocks, bonds, mutual funds, ETFs, and other investment vehicles
  • Reconcile and maintain client investment records, including cost basis adjustments and corporate actions
  • Provide timely updates to the team and management regarding portfolio, account, and reconciliation activities
  • Collaboration & Process Improvements
  • Collaborate with various teams to assist in the development and improvement of portfolio management processes
  • Respond to inquiries and requests from portfolio management and advisors in a timely, professional, and thorough manner
  • Perform other related duties and projects as assigned
  • Qualifications
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Finance or related field
  • Active FINRA Series 65 required (or obtain within 90 days of hire)
  • 12 years of experience in the financial services, investments, or portfolio management industries

    The expected base salary range for this position in Richmond, VA is between $66,000 to $76,000 USD annually. This reflects the annual base salary range that GGWM reasonably expects to pay for this position based on a number of factors, which may include relevant job knowledge, skill sets, education, experience, and actual work location of the individual selected for this role.
