What is a wealth management advisor branch manager?

A Wealth Management Advisor Branch Manager is a financial professional who oversees a branch of wealth management advisors, ensuring that clients receive high-quality financial planning and investment services. This role combines leadership and management responsibilities with direct client interaction, guiding both the branch team and clients in achieving their financial goals. The Branch Manager is often responsible for recruiting, training, and developing advisors, as well as setting sales targets and maintaining compliance with industry regulations. They also may handle complex client portfolios and help develop strategies for asset growth and risk management.

What does a wealth management advisor branch manager do?

A Wealth Management Advisor Branch Manager is responsible for both providing financial advice to clients and overseeing the branch's team of advisors and support staff. Balancing these roles requires effective time management, as client meetings, portfolio reviews, and personalized financial planning must be integrated with coaching team members, setting performance goals, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Many managers dedicate specific days or time blocks to client work and others to branch operations, leveraging strong communication and delegation skills. This dual focus not only enhances client satisfaction but also fosters a high-performing, collaborative team environment.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a wealth management advisor branch manager?

To thrive as a Wealth Management Advisor Branch Manager, you need a robust background in financial planning, investment management, and regulatory compliance, typically supported by a bachelor's degree in finance or business and relevant licenses such as FINRA Series 7, 63, or 66. Familiarity with financial planning software, CRM systems, and portfolio management tools is essential. Exceptional leadership, interpersonal communication, and client relationship-building skills set top performers apart in this role. These skills and qualifications are vital for ensuring regulatory adherence, delivering superior client service, and driving branch growth and profitability.

About Strittmatter

Strittmatter Wealth Management Group, LLC (SWMG) is a boutique Registered Investment Advisor located in Fort Worth, TX. We have been in business since 2007 and specialize in retirement planning, investment management and business planning to high-net-worth clients and business owners. Why This Opportunity Is Different
  • Warm Leads and a Growth Platform

SWMG invests in marketing and lead generation so advisors can work qualified opportunities instead of relying exclusively on cold prospecting. Advisors can continue developing their existing natural market and referral relationships while receiving company-generated opportunities.

  • Technology That Reduces Friction

Our CRM, planning, portfolio, digital onboarding, and workflow systems are designed to make the advisor more productive and provide a consistent client experience.

  • Bring Your Relationships. Build Your Future

Oversee asset transitions and help clients implement recommendations

Conduct ongoing client review and planning meetings

Identify opportunities to deepen existing relationships and generate referrals

Partner with paraplanners, portfolio management, operations, marketing, and client service

Use SWMG technology and workflows to manage prospects and client relationships

Participate in seminars, educational events, and marketing initiatives

What We're Looking For

5+ years of client-facing financial advisory experience

Proven ability to attract, convert, and retain high-net-worth clients

Demonstrated experience managing an established book of business

Excellent presentation, communication, and consultative sales skills

Bachelor's degree or higher

Strong organization and time management

Commitment to fiduciary responsibility and high ethical standards

CFP® certification and RIA experience are preferred.

What You'll Receive

Company-generated warm leads through seminars, educational events, digital marketing, referrals, and other campaigns

Modern CRM, financial planning, portfolio management, digital onboarding, and workflow technology

Paraplanning, investment, operations, marketing, and client service support

Structured Advisor Career Path and professional development

Medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance; PTO; and 401(k) with company match.
