Assisted Living Administrator - Brand-New Community!
Cambridge Senior Living | 707 Tower Park Dr, Waterloo, IA 50701
Full-Time | New Community Opening Spring 2027
Overview
Cambridge Senior Living is excited to bring a brand-new senior living community to Waterloo, Iowa, and we are looking for an experienced Assisted Living Administrator to lead the community from pre-opening through successful operation.
This is a unique opportunity to help build a community from the ground up! Before opening, you will train alongside our Regional Executive Administrator at our established Eau Claire, Wisconsin community while working with our leadership team to prepare for the Waterloo opening.
What You'll Do
  • Lead the overall operations, culture, and success of the community.
  • Build, lead, and develop a strong management and care team.
  • Participate in recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and training staff.
  • Prepare the community for opening, including operational readiness, policies, systems, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Iowa assisted living regulations and company policies.
  • Oversee resident care, safety, satisfaction, and resident rights.
  • Manage staffing, scheduling, budgets, purchasing, and daily operations.
  • Build strong relationships with residents, families, referral partners, healthcare providers, and the Waterloo community.
  • Lead census development and marketing efforts during the pre-opening and lease-up period.
  • Coach and support department leaders while creating a positive, accountable team culture.
  • Participate in inspections, surveys, investigations, and corrective action processes as needed.

What We're Looking For
  • Previous leadership or management experience in assisted living, senior living, healthcare, or a related setting.
  • Strong understanding of senior care, resident services, staffing, and day-to-day facility operations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to successfully complete required state and regulatory training.
  • Passion for providing exceptional care and creating a welcoming community for residents.
  • Ability to build and develop a team from the ground up.
  • Must meet Iowa Assisted Living Program Manager requirements, including completion of an Assisted Living Management course within six months of hire that includes at least six hours of training on Iowa assisted living rules and laws. Proof of prior qualifying training required.
  • Must be able to successfully complete all required background checks and pre-employment requirements.
  • Must be willing to train in our Eau Claire, Wisconsin location prior to the Waterloo community opening.
