Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Full-time Waterjet Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in operating OMAX waterjet cutting systems, including set-up and programming. This position plays a crucial role in our manufacturing process, ensuring the production of high-quality components that meet our clients' exacting specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain OMAX waterjet cutting machines to produce precision parts according to engineering drawings and specifications
  • Set up and program waterjet cutting machines for various cutting operations, including complex geometries and multi-layer materials
  • Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine cutting requirements and machine settings
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on waterjet cutting equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime
  • Monitor cutting processes and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency
  • Inspect finished parts for accuracy and quality, using precision measuring instruments
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality control teams to improve processes and resolve technical issues
  • Train and mentor junior operators on proper machine operation and safety procedures
  • Maintain accurate records of production activities, material usage, and machine performance

Qualifications and Skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical school certification in machining or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience operating waterjet cutting machines, preferably OMAX systems
  • Proficiency in OMAX software for machine programming and operation
  • Strong understanding of G-code programming and ability to create and modify programs as needed
  • Excellent knowledge of waterjet cutting principles, including abrasive types, pressures, and cutting speeds
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and engineering specifications
  • Proficient in using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot machine issues
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional overtime and weekends as needed
