Collins Engineers, Inc., is looking for a motivated, self-starter to join our Portsmouth,ย New Hampshireย office as aย Waterfront Project Manager. This role will provide the opportunity to work on a variety of waterfront facility design and inspection projects, including but not limited to piers, wharves, seawalls, bulkheads, jetties, breakwaters, revetments, and marinas. This position offers creative individuals the space to thrive. It allows for the chance to take ownership of your projects, push for new ideas and new ways of doing things, and to obtain the resources needed to follow through on your plans. The successful candidate will have a background in structural design of transportation and/or waterfront structures. This person can work from either the New Hampshire or Rhode Island office.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Independently performs moderately difficult engineering computations involving conventional engineering practices.
  • Uses computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.
  • Performs inspection work and directs inspection staff on waterfront facility assessment projects.
  • Field work required, which could include nights and weekends.
  • Prepares and oversees complete engineering plan and report development.
  • Performs construction support services, in the office and field, to ensure conformance with design plans and specifications.
  • Responsible for project schedules and timely completion of projects.
  • Monitors project budgets and works directly with clients. ย 
  • Ensures accurate client billings and monitors outstanding accounts receivable.
  • Assists in proposal preparation, project scoping, estimating project costs, project planning, and project quality.
  • Directs and supervises the work of entry-level engineers, technicians, drafters, and administrative staff.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree and/or masterโ€™s degree in civil engineering from an accredited four-year university.
  • A minimum of 5 yearsโ€™ experience or the equivalent thereof.ย 
  • Experience in the inspection and/or design of, but not limited to, marinas, marine terminals, ports, wharves, piers, and sea walls.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.)ย certification required.
  • Valid driverโ€™s license.
