What You Will Contribute:

Make an Impact Through Hands-On Testing and Innovation

At Badger Meter, we innovate at the intersection of water technology and data. As an Engineer I - Hydro Lab Test, you'll play a key role in validating the performance and reliability of products used by customers around the world.

This is an ideal early-career opportunity for someone who enjoys working hands-on with hardware, data, and automation-while building deep technical expertise in a collaborative engineering environment.

You'll work alongside experienced engineers to design and execute test solutions, improve lab systems, and contribute to product development from concept through validation.

What You'll Do

  • Perform performance and compliance testing on flow meters, sensors, and communication products
  • Support the design and development of test setups, control systems, and automated data acquisition tools
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret test data to inform product performance and quality decisions
  • Develop and maintain test procedures, work instructions, and documentation
  • Troubleshoot and support existing lab equipment, hardware, and software systems
  • Assist in defining test plans, scope, and timelines for engineering projects
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Project Management teams
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of lab capabilities and testing methods

What You Bring

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to take initiative and work both independently and within a team environment
  • Effective communication skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • Internship, co-op, or 1-2 years of experience in engineering, testing, or lab environments
  • Exposure to programming or automation tools (e.g., Python, PLCs/Allen-Bradley)
  • Familiarity with data acquisition systems, instrumentation, or lab testing equipment
  • Basic understanding of software development concepts and data analysis methods
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or product development environment
