Job Title: Construction Laborer Underground Utilities (Water & Sewer)

Location: Wilmington, NC

Position Summary

We are seeking dependable and hardworking Construction Laborers to support our underground utility crews installing water, sewer, and storm drain systems. This position plays a critical role in assisting operators and pipe layers to ensure projects are completed safely and efficiently.

This is a hands-on, outdoor position ideal for individuals who are motivated, reliable, and eager to grow in the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with installation of underground water, sewer, and storm drain systems
  • Help with trench preparation, bedding, backfilling, and compaction
  • Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment
  • Assist pipe layers and equipment operators as directed
  • Maintain clean and organized job sites
  • Follow all OSHA and company safety procedures
  • Perform manual labor including digging, lifting, carrying, and grading
  • Use hand tools and small power tools safely and effectively

Qualifications

  • Previous construction experience preferred but not required
  • Experience in underground utilities is a plus
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Strong work ethic and reliability
  • Ability to take direction and work as part of a team
  • Valid drivers license preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in trenches
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks throughout the workday
