Pool Lifeguard

This job will be accepting job applications until the position is filled.

Hourly: $22.37 - $22.37

Department: Culture & Recreation, Recreation

Division: Aquatics

FLSA: Non-Exempt

Job Description: This role will be responsible for serving as a pool lifeguard and teaching program classes.

Examples of Duties:
  • Instructs Water Safety Classes for all age levels and skill abilities and maintains records of these classes.
  • Maintains the cleanliness of the locker rooms, pool area, aquatic equipment, and pool water.
  • Administers First Aid / CPR when necessary.
  • Enforces rules and regulations of the facility.
  • Answers questions from the public.
  • Acts as Pool Manager in case of absence.
  • Conducts or officiates swim meets.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
  • One year related experience and/or training
  • High School Diploma (or GED), or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Valid Driver's License
  • First Aid/CPR for Professional Rescuers
  • Starfish Water Safety Instructor certification
  • Starguard Lifeguard Certificate
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience as a lifeguard
