Position: Installation Technician

Reports To: Technical Supervisor / Technical Director

Why is this Role Essential?

The Installation Technician plays a critical role in ensuring our dialysis water treatment systems are installed, maintained, and operating safely and efficiently. This position partners closely with the Technical Director and Technical Supervisor to complete installations, preventative maintenance, repairs, and equipment upgrades while supporting regulatory compliance and delivering reliable water quality standards that directly impact patient care.


What Will You Do?

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair dialysis water treatment systems and related equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on reverse osmosis (RO) systems, pretreatment equipment, and ancillary water treatment devices.
  • Assist with water treatment room upgrades, renovations, and new system installations.
  • Perform water testing, disinfection procedures, bacteriological cultures, LAL testing, and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Report out-of-range water quality results and assist in implementing corrective actions.
  • Maintain compliance with AAMI, CMS, state, and company standards.
  • Identify equipment, parts, chemicals, and testing supply needs to ensure operational readiness.
  • Maintain organized, clean, and safe water treatment rooms and warehouse inventory.
  • Assist in training clinical teammates and technical staff on water treatment equipment and processes.
  • Respond to emergency service calls involving water treatment systems.
  • Prepare and submit service reports and documentation in a timely manner.
  • Communicate effectively with Facility Water Specialists (FWS), clinic leadership, and Technical leadership.
  • Operate company vehicles, including work vans and rental box trucks, as needed.
  • Travel throughout assigned regions to support installation projects and equipment upgrades.

What's Required?

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience

  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in dialysis, healthcare, biomedical services, water treatment, plumbing, or a related technical field preferred.
  • Experience servicing dialysis water treatment equipment strongly preferred.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Working knowledge of dialysis water treatment systems.
  • Understanding of AAMI, ANSI/ISO, and CMS water quality standards.
  • Knowledge of AmeriWater systems preferred.
  • Plumbing experience preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lift, position, and move equipment safely.
  • Ability to stand, bend, climb, and work in mechanical environments for extended periods.

Preferred Certifications

  • Dialysis water treatment certifications from equipment manufacturers.
  • Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT) or Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician (CCHT).
  • Water Quality Association (WQA) Certified Water Specialist (CWS).
  • NANT membership preferred.

On Call, Travel, & Work Expectations:

  • Participate in a rotating weekend on-call schedule.
  • Weekend on-call compensation provided.
  • Frequent regional and out-of-state travel required.
  • Company pays all travel expenses and provides daily per diem for overnight travel.
  • Travel may include driving or flying depending on project location.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to safely operate company vehicles, including work vans and rental box trucks.
  • Maintain warehouse inventory and assist with receiving deliveries when not traveling.

Compensation Range: $25 - $38/hr

Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.

In addition to base pay, eligible teammates may receive:
