Work Schedule: Monday-Friday | 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Work Arrangement: Fully Onsite
Job Summary
We are hiring experienced Lead Field Technicians and Field Service Technicians for a long-term municipal water utility project. This is an excellent opportunity for professionals with hands-on experience in water meter installation, replacement, maintenance, testing, and repair.
The role involves performing field service work at residential and commercial locations, troubleshooting water meter systems, meter pits, and meter vaults while maintaining high safety standards.
Responsibilities
  • Install, replace, maintain, test, and repair residential and commercial water meters
  • Perform field investigations and troubleshoot water meter issues
  • Install remote meter reading devices and related equipment
  • Work with meter pits, meter vaults, curb boxes, and water distribution systems
  • Complete daily field reports and required documentation
  • Safely operate hand and power tools
  • Travel to multiple customer locations throughout Montgomery County and Prince George's County
  • Follow all safety procedures and company guidelines
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience installing, replacing, maintaining, or repairing water meters
  • Experience working with municipal water utilities, water distribution systems, or utility contractors
  • Experience with residential and commercial water meters
  • Valid driver's license
  • Must own or be willing to rent a suitable work truck (pickup truck, utility body truck, cargo van, or flatbed)
  • Must have or be willing to obtain commercial auto insurance for the work vehicle
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Ability to lift up to 90 lbs and work in confined spaces when required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with AMI/AMR or remote meter reading systems
  • Utility construction or underground utility experience
  • Water distribution or public works experience
  • OSHA 10/30 Certification
  • CPR / First Aid Certification
