Job description

Position Overview

All Plumbing is seeking a motivated, knowledgeable, and sales-driven Plumbing Sales Estimator & Water Quality Specialist.

This position is responsible for running qualified residential plumbing and water-quality leads, evaluating

customer needs, preparing professional estimates, presenting solutions, closing work, and following up on

outstanding proposals.

This is not a traditional hourly plumbing technician position. The primary responsibility is generating profitable sales for All Plumbing while providing customers with knowledgeable, professional recommendations.

The ideal candidate understands residential plumbing systems, is comfortable in customers' homes, can communicate technical information clearly, and is motivated by a commission-based compensation structure.

Primary Responsibilities

The Sales Estimator will be responsible for:

• Running company-provided plumbing and water-quality sales leads.

• Performing residential plumbing evaluations and preparing estimates.

• Evaluating water-quality concerns and recommending appropriate filtration and treatment solutions.

• Selling and estimating:

  1. Whole-home water filtration systems
  2. Water treatment and conditioning systems
  3. HALO water filtration products
  4. Water heaters
  5. Tankless water heaters
  6. Repipes
  7. Fixture replacements and upgrades
  8. Plumbing repairs
  9. Sewer and drain replacements
  10. Other residential plumbing projects

• Testing and evaluating water when appropriate.

• Preparing clear, professional estimates using All Plumbing's pricing system.

• Presenting multiple options to customers when appropriate.

• Explaining the benefits, costs, warranties, and expected results of recommended solutions.

• Asking for the sale and collecting required deposits/authorizations.

• Maintaining accurate customer and opportunity information in the company's CRM.

• Following up on every unsold estimate and open opportunity according to company procedures.

• Maintaining communication with customers throughout the sales process.

• Coordinating sold projects with All Plumbing's operations, scheduling, and installation teams.

• Maintaining strong relationships with previous customers and identifying additional opportunities.

• Representing All Plumbing professionally at all times.

Training & Certification

The successful candidate will be required to complete and maintain company-approved training and

certifications, including:

• HALO water filtration/product certification

• Flow-Tech water treatment/product training and certification

• All Plumbing sales and estimating training

• All Plumbing pricing and CRM training

• Applicable manufacturer training for products sold by the company

The employee must maintain a strong working knowledge of residential plumbing systems and the water-

treatment products offered by All Plumbing.

Compensation

This position is designed around a performance-driven compensation plan.

Compensation includes:

• Minimal guaranteed base salary

• Commission on qualifying sold work

• Company-provided truck

• Company fuel card

• Company phone/tablet as required

• Manufacturer and product training

• Qualified leads provided by All Plumbing

Commission eligibility will be based on company-defined requirements including collected revenue, gross

margin, proper pricing, documentation, and customer satisfaction.

The intent of the compensation structure is to provide significant earning potential for high-performing

salespeople while keeping fixed compensation relatively low.

Monthly Performance Standards

This is a results-driven position. The Sales Estimator will be expected to meet minimum monthly performance standards established by All Plumbing.

Performance will be measured using KPIs that may include:

• Sales Revenue: Minimum monthly sold and/or collected revenue target.

• Closing Percentage: Minimum closing percentage on qualified company-provided opportunities.

• Gross Margin: Sold work must meet All Plumbing & minimum gross-margin requirements. Discounting work simply to achieve sales goals will not be acceptable.

• Average Ticket: Maintain an appropriate average sale based on the mix of leads assigned.

• Lead Follow-Up: 100% of open estimates must receive documented follow-up according to company

standards.

• Lead Management: Leads, estimates, notes, follow-up activities, sold jobs, and lost opportunities must be

properly documented in the company's CRM.

• Customer Experience: Maintain acceptable customer reviews, complaint levels, cancellations, and

callbacks.

• Product Mix: Maintain appropriate sales activity in water filtration/treatment and plumbing projects.

Performance Accountability

Performance will be reviewed monthly.

If the employee fails to meet the established minimum performance requirements for two consecutive months, the employee will be subject to removal from the sales position and/or termination of employment.

Management may consider lead volume, lead quality, seasonality, approved time off, and other circumstances outside of the salesperson & control when evaluating performance.

Failure to properly follow up with leads, document opportunities, maintain required certifications, meet gross- margin requirements, or follow company sales procedures may also result in disciplinary action regardless of total sales volume.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

• Strong residential plumbing knowledge

• Plumbing estimating experience

• Water filtration/water treatment knowledge or willingness to become certified

• Previous in-home sales experience preferred

• Ability to identify plumbing problems and recommend appropriate solutions

• Strong communication and presentation skills

• Ability to confidently ask for the sale

• Strong organizational and follow-up skills

• Comfortable using CRM, estimating, and mobile technology

• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record

• Professional appearance and communication

• Ability to pass applicable company background and driving requirements

Company Vehicle

All Plumbing will provide a company truck and fuel card for business use.

The employee will be responsible for:

• Keeping the vehicle clean and professional

• Following company vehicle policies

• Maintaining accurate mileage and service records when required

• Immediately reporting accidents or damage

• Maintaining an acceptable driving record

What Success Looks Like

A successful All Plumbing Sales Estimator:

• Runs every lead professionally.

• Builds trust before discussing price.

• Understands plumbing instead of simply selling products.

• Educates customers on their options.

• Provides multiple solutions when appropriate.

• Asks for the business.

• Protects company gross margin.

• Does not allow estimates to disappear without follow-up.

• Keeps the CRM accurate.

• Communicates with operations after the sale.

• Generates repeat and referral business.

• Consistently meets or exceeds monthly sales expectations.

The All Plumbing Standard

Our goal is not to pressure customers into unnecessary work. Our sales team is expected to identify legitimate plumbing and water-quality needs, educate the customer, provide professional options, and earn the customer’s business.

We expect our sales professionals to operate with integrity while aggressively pursuing legitimate opportunities and delivering profitable growth for All Plumbing.
