Job description


J. Blanton Plumbing is looking for a dependable and hardworking Mitigation Laborer to join our growing team. This role is responsible for assisting with water damage mitigation, job site preparation, demolition, equipment setup, and restoration support.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys physical work, takes pride in doing the job right, and wants to grow within a professional service company.
We are looking for someone who shows up on time, works well with a team, and is willing to learn the restoration and mitigation trade.
Responsibilities
  • Assist technicians with water damage mitigation and restoration work
  • Set up and monitor drying equipment (fans, dehumidifiers, air movers)
  • Perform demolition of damaged materials including drywall, flooring, and insulation
  • Remove debris and maintain a clean job site
  • Load and unload equipment and materials
  • Take moisture readings and assist with documentation
  • Follow company safety procedures and job protocols
  • Communicate professionally with customers on job sites
  • Support technicians and supervisors with daily project needs

Requirements
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly
  • Ability to work in physically demanding environments
  • Strong work ethic and reliability
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to learn mitigation and restoration procedures
  • Construction or restoration experience is a plus but not required

Preferred Experience (Not Required)
  • Water damage mitigation
  • Construction or demolition work
  • Restoration industry experience
  • IICRC certifications
