Job Overview


J. Blanton Plumbing is seeking an experienced Water Mitigation & Restoration Crew Chief to lead water damage mitigation and restoration projects from start to finish. This role is responsible for managing job sites, directing mitigation laborers, ensuring proper equipment setup, and delivering high-quality service to our customers.
The ideal candidate has experience in the restoration industry, understands drying and mitigation processes, and can confidently lead a team while maintaining professionalism with homeowners.

Responsibilities

  • Lead 2+ Crew members on site and lead daily job-site activities and ensure work is completed to mitigation standards.
  • Lead water damage mitigation projects from initial response through completion
  • Direct and supervise mitigation technicians and laborers on job sites
  • Strong knowledge of water mitigation and drying procedures.
  • Experience with dry logs and scope sheet updates.
  • Inspect properties and assess water damage conditions
  • Set up and monitor drying equipment including air movers, dehumidifiers, and containment systems
  • Perform moisture readings and document job progress
  • Communicate clearly with homeowners about work being performed
  • Ensure job sites remain safe, clean, and organized
  • Coordinate with management regarding job progress and equipment needs
  • Follow company mitigation protocols and industry standards
  • Complete documentation and job reports accurately

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to lead a team and manage job site workflow
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in physically demanding environments
  • Strong attention to detail and organization
  • Reliable and punctual

Preferred Experience

  • Water damage mitigation or restoration experience
  • Experience using drying equipment and moisture detection tools
  • Experience managing crews or job sites

Must Have

  • IICRC certified
  • Water certification
