Job Summary
Responsible for successful completion of the training program in order to obtain a Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) license from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) for the site-specific plant assigned to work.
Job Description
Key Accountabilities
• Coordination and implementation of plant equipment controls, integrated operations procedures, operations, maintenance, radiological support, modifications, maintenance planning, work control, chemistry or accredited training
• Train and study for SRO Certification
• Exhibit basic knowledge of engineering
• Exhibits a high degree of nuclear professionalism, nuclear safety conscious, maturity, good judgment, personal integrity, leadership ability, a sense of empowerment and motivation to drive excellence in performance.
****SRO Class will be hiring for 1st Quarter 2027 for Summer SRO Class
Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Demonstrates good leadership and problem-solving skills.
• Prior reactor operator experience in the navy or commercial sector preferred
• Prior SRO license at a commercial facility preferred
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to maintain composure during stressful situations.
• Occasional long, irregular hours
