Job description

Hazen is seeking a qualified and experienced Project Engineer to support the planning, design and construction of water and wastewater facility infrastructure in Lexington or Louisville Kentucky.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work on a wide range of projects to include planning, design, permitting, and construction of structures in water and wastewater (i.e. drinking water, wastewater, water resources, conveyance)

Required Qualifications:

  • 5 - 10 years of experience in relevant municipal water/wastewater design and construction experience
  • Experience in planning, design, and construction for water and wastewater treatment facilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and capable of interacting effectively with staff, clients, and regulatory agencies
  • Self-starter with attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proficient in all MS Office based computer software
  • PE license (KY preferred or ability to obtain reciprocity within six months of employment)
  • B.S. degree in Environmental, Civil, or Biosystems engineering

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (Master’s) of Science or Engineering from an ABET-accredited U.S. program (other engineering degrees considered case by case)
