The person hired for the position of Production Operator will be responsible for producing and assembling products in the plant. They operate and maintain machinery, ensure production standards are met, finalize products, and prepare them for shipping.

Responsibilities/ The Impact You Will Make in this Role: Observing all safety procedures, maintain a clean and safe work area.

Applying quality instructions & specificationsMonitoring the production or packing operation to ensure quality objectives are met.

Loading/unloading material into & from equipment.

Working as a team member through sharing information, problem solving & assisting othersUnderstanding and following all safety policies and proceduresFollowing process standards to ensure quality product is produced.

Performing data entry and recording required tests and adjusting processes as necessary to meet quality specifications.

Maintaining excellent housekeepingHandling hazardous waste material in accordance with federal and state regulationsYour Skills and Expertise : To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications: Applicants must be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this 3M Production role, in compliance with U.S. labor and safety laws.

Required:

Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start)Ability to work a 2nd (second) or 3rd (third) shift depending on shift availability, OR ability to work a 12-hour night/rotating shift (approximately 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)Ability to work overtime, weekends and holidays as required.

Applicants meeting the basic qualifications above may be required to take and pass 3M elected testing as part of the selection process.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include: Desired: Minimum one (1) year of plant and/or manufacturing experience in a public, private, government, or military environmentPost-high school educationExperience with control charting, material handling, packaging, chemical manufacturing, and hazardous waste management.
