Job description

Project Manager II

Location: Palm Springs / Coachella Valley, CA

Employment Type: Full-Time / Direct Hire

Work Arrangement: Hybrid

We are hiring a Project Manager II to support a growing healthcare IT organization in the Palm Springs area.

This role is a strong fit for someone who enjoys managing multiple projects at once, working across different technology areas, and operating in an environment that is still refining and improving its project management processes.

The team primarily uses traditional Waterfall project delivery.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead multiple small-to-medium projects simultaneously, with occasional larger initiatives.
  • Manage projects through different phases of the project lifecycle.
  • Build, maintain, and update project plans.
  • Coordinate resources across technical and business teams.
  • Manage timelines, dependencies, risks, and expectations.
  • Work directly with external vendors and hold them accountable for deliverables.
  • Partner with teams across areas such as:
  • Enterprise applications
  • Infrastructure
  • Cybersecurity
  • Microsoft 365
  • Healthcare technology
  • AI initiatives
  • Participate in project intake, reporting, and PMO process improvement.
  • Help improve how projects are planned, prioritized, and executed across the organization.

Types of Projects

This team supports some of the organization’s highest-priority initiatives, which may include:

  • Healthcare application implementations and enhancements
  • Epic-related projects
  • New clinic and outpatient technology initiatives
  • IT support for major new facility openings
  • Infrastructure and networking projects
  • Microsoft 365 and Teams modernization
  • Pharmacy and 340B initiatives
  • AI and agentic AI projects

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of overall project management experience
  • Current PMP certification
  • Strong experience managing projects using Waterfall methodology
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects
  • Strong vendor management experience
  • Ability to coordinate resources and work across multiple departments
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

  • Healthcare or healthcare-adjacent project management experience
  • Experience supporting IT or enterprise technology projects
  • Experience with healthcare applications or Epic
  • Infrastructure, cybersecurity, Microsoft, or facility-related project experience
  • Experience working within a PMO that is still developing and improving its processes

Work Arrangement

This is a hybrid position based in the Palm Springs / Coachella Valley area.

The person hired should expect to spend more time onsite during the initial ramp-up period, particularly if they are new to healthcare. As they become established and more independent, there is potential for significantly greater remote flexibility.

This is not intended to be a fully remote position.
