Job Summary:
The Garbage Truck Driver supports Fort Belvoir’s Solid Waste Management program by operating heavy refuse‑collection vehicles to collect, transport, and dispose of solid waste and recyclables across the installation. This role is essential to maintaining environmental compliance, sanitation, and readiness on the Army post.

The Garbage Truck Driver supports Fort Belvoir’s Solid Waste Management program by operating heavy refuse‑collection vehicles to collect, transport, and dispose of solid waste and recyclables across the installation. This role is essential to maintaining environmental compliance, sanitation, and readiness on the Army post.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
  • Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) – Class B
  • Minimum 1 year commercial driving experience (preferred)
  • Clean driving record; ability to pass background check and drug screening.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50+ lbs, bend, push, and perform strenuous tasks.
  • Normal duty hours 0700-1600. Except for specials events, shall not be required to provide services after normal duty hours, weekends and Federal holidays.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems and safe operation of heavy equipment (preferred).
  • Familiarity with solid waste handling procedures and environmental compliance standards (preferred).
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Must be able to pass a company drug screen and background check. Must possess a valid state driver’s license and insurable driving record.
