Job description

Job Objective: To coordinate and support the effective operation of the Christmas program distribution center by organizing space, directing volunteers, and assisting with the distribution and movement of gifts.
Essential Functions:
  • Set up and maintain Christmas program distribution space
  • Direct volunteers in organizing the distribution center, loading and unloading of trucks, and moving gifts to appropriate areas
  • Assist with gift distribution, late assistance and moving out of building
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: None required
Experience: Warehouse experience preferred
Certifications/Licenses: None
Skills/Abilities:
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to work flexible hours

Supervisory Responsibility: Volunteers
Physical Requirements: Include speaking, hearing and vision ability; walking, bending, and squatting; manual dexterity; lifting, pulling and pushing materials up to 25 lbs.; standing up to eight hours per day. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions of this job.
Travel: None
Driving: Must possess a valid driver's license from the state of residence. Must be approved through The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program to drive either a Salvation Army or personal vehicle on Salvation Army business.
Working Conditions: Work is performed in typical warehouse setting; some weekend and evening work required.
