Job description

PREMIER SERVICE COMPANY, INC.

Warehouse Assistant

Premier Service Company has been Keeping You Safe & Comfortable since 1992.

What started as a 7-person operation has grown into a regional leader in HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, and Utilities -

As a Warehouse Assistant, you'll be a critical link in our supply chain - maintaining appropriate stock levels, coordinating material movement from suppliers to our warehouse and service trucks, and ensuring job sites are supplied on time. You'll work inside a close-knit, fast-moving team that takes pride in doing the job right.

The Warehouse Assistant will have driving as a core part of the role. You will be responsible for transporting materials between our warehouse and job sites - including operating vehicles with trailers, with confident backing and maneuvering skills expected daily. In addition to your time on the road, you'll maintain appropriate stock levels and keep our supply chain moving so our field teams always have what they need.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required
Proven warehouse or distribution center experience
Valid Alabama DOT Medical Card - required prior to start date (driving is a core function of this role)
Clean motor vehicle record (MVR)
Demonstrated ability to operate a vehicle with a trailer, including backing and maneuvering in tight spaces
Experience transporting materials to and from job sites, warehouses, and service vehicles
Forklift certification or hands-on forklift operation experience
Experience with material handling and warehouse software/databases
Good computer skills and strong written and verbal communication

Preferred Qualifications:

Valid CDL (Commercial Driver's License)
Experience in electrical, plumbing, or HVAC environments
Proven track record implementing process improvement initiatives in a warehouse setting

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

This role involves working in both shop and field environments. Candidates should be comfortable with:

  • Exposure to loud noise and outdoor conditions
  • Sustained physical activity including lifting (50+ lbs), bending, and kneeling
  • Maintaining alertness and focus in a dynamic, fast-paced setting

"We are an Equal Opportunity Employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability, age, or veteran status."
