Job description

Overview

The general purpose of the Truck Driver/Warehouse Staff is to maintain a welcoming atmosphere at Warehouse and on pick-ups and drop-offs by ensuring the items are displayed well, the facilities including the truck is kept neat, and each quest is cared for in a polite manner. The employee will partake in all operations of the warehouse including storage of goods, vehicle logs and maintenance and complete daily reports.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee operations at warehouse and answer all phone calls to warehouse
  • Welcoming interactions with the public while making decisions on accepting donations
  • Schedule pick-up of items (loading and unloading the truck) at local houses, stores (Corps), and venders (rags, books, purses, etc.)
  • Maintain accurate records of donations and make sure the store has adequate supply of goods
  • Keep work area neat and clean in the warehouse
  • Maintain mileage and maintenance logs as necessary and make management staff aware of any vehicle maintenance needed
  • Give oversight to all volunteers working within the warehouse
  • Warehouse items need to be inventoried, organized, and maintained (metal sorted, electronics tested, )
  • A safety checklist should be established to ensure constant attention being given to the safety of everyone involved in the warehouse
  • Assist with bailing rags and loading the shipping truck as needed
  • Other duties as assigned from the manager in order to ensure the proper functioning of the Family Store
