Age Restrictions:

company vehicle. Also need to be company certified to operate a forklift.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY
The primary responsibility of a Store Warehouse Stock Clerk is to receive, verify, and store merchandise brought in by various vendors and transportation services, to ensure accurate billing and payment of merchandise. A Store Warehouse Stock Clerk also provides back door security to protect company assets.
JOB DESCRIPTION
ESSENTIAL DUTIES

You MUST perform the following duties regularly and up to company standards:
โ€ข Accurately receive and count incoming merchandise, physically counting and matching it with invoices.
โ€ข Scan invoices into the computer and input verification of merchandise counted.
โ€ข Log invoices in the computer system and distribute it to department supervisors.
โ€ข Write up credit claims, damages, overages, and shortages.
โ€ข Store merchandise in warehouse (drive forklift, operate pallet jack, stock wagon and elevator).
โ€ข Assist the store with setting up the warehouse for periodic (monthly, quarterly, etc.) inventory.
โ€ข Enforce all receiving and security procedures with associates and vendors (salespersons/delivery/merchandisers), to monitor merchandise entering and exiting the receiving door area.
NON-ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
In order to provide the best possible service to our customers, the following duties are also required on an as-needed basis, during slow periods, or upon instruction by a supervisor, manager or designated person-in-charge.
โ€ข Break down merchandise from Central Warehouse and various vendors.
โ€ข Rearrange items in warehouse to make space, by rotating items according to shelf dates.
โ€ข Scan all damaged and unsalable merchandise; reduce damaged items for sale.
โ€ข Shred dated documents (i.e., invoices, credit claims) after 3 months.
โ€ข Pick up packages from the Post Office.
โ€ข Maintain a clean warehouse. Sweep, remove debris, pallets, etc. and discard trash daily.
โ€ข Secure doors, gates, and perimeter areas (docks, receiving area, etc.).
โ€ข Service stock wagons as needed.
โ€ข Check and maintain power pallet jack and forklifts daily; fill forklift with propane.
โ€ข Check generator monthly. Call for maintenance if needed.
โ€ข Take quarterly inventory.
โ€ข Perform other duties as required or assigned.
CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPECTATIONS
All associates are required to provide our customers with "World Class Service" with a local touch.
โ€ข GREET all customers (be friendly, smile and make face-to-face eye contact).
โ€ข HELP all customers (listen and pay attention; be courteous; be knowledgeable about product location, services offered and store hours; offer alternatives if a product is out of stock; take the customer to the product, etc.).
โ€ข Personalize the customer's shopping experience (make small talk, offer meal suggestions, explain current store promotions, etc.).
โ€ข THANK all customers (show appreciation and offer a parting comment).
WORKING CONDITIONS
โ€ข Frequently work outdoors where it may be noisy, hot, humid, and sometimes raining, to receive, break down, and load up merchandise; work around fumes from the forklift.
โ€ข Occasionally work in a warehouse where it is poorly ventilated, hot and dusty to store, count, and retrieve merchandise.
WORK HOURS
โ€ข Generally be available for work Monday through Saturday and holidays, between 2:45 am and 4:00 pm.
EQUIPMENT USE
โ€ข Frequently use a computer, scanner, printer, forklift, pallet jack, baler, freight elevator, hand truck, stock wagon, and stapler to perform all job duties; Telxon and Janin Units to receive merchandise.
โ€ข Occasionally use a broom, dustpan, telephone, and calculator.
โ€ข Seldom use a ladder, case cutter, company van, and circular saw.
SAFETY EQUIPMENT
โ€ข Continuously wear a back support belt when performing all job duties.
MENTAL, PHYSICAL AND COMMUNICATION DEMANDS
โ€ข MENTAL - Continuously need to concentrate well and be alert to follow security procedures and drive forklift and company van; use mathematical abilities to count merchandise. Frequently need to pay attention to detail to verify merchandise count and perform cleaning duties; stand firm and say "no", in order to enforce safety, security and other company procedures.
โ€ข PHYSICAL - Continuously need to stand, walk, handle and use corrected vision when performing all job duties. Frequently need to bend, squat, kneel, crouch and reach, to handle, stock, and retrieve merchandise from shelves; pull up to 2200 lbs. to transport merchandise with a pallet jack; push up to 300 lbs. on hand truck to transport merchandise; lift up to 50 lbs. to stock and retrieve cases of merchandise; carry up to 30 lbs. to retrieve and stock various cases of merchandise. Occasionally need to push up to 600 lbs. to stock and store merchandise; climb and reach to replace light bulbs. Seldom need to drive company vehicle to pick up supplies.
โ€ข COMMUNICATION - Continuously need to listen, talk to, and understand vendors, supervisors and co-workers when doing all job duties; read invoices, invoice log, and product cases when receiving, verifying and storing merchandise. Frequently talk on the telephone and PA system to answer incoming calls, call maintenance companies, and transfer calls to another department; meet vendor's occasional requests to make room in warehouse to store more merchandise. Occasionally need to write to take messages for co-workers; listen, understand and talk to customers and assist them with their requests.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Skills and Knowledge: Must have basic math skills and good organizational skills, be able to multitask to accomplish work on time, be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with workers, vendors and management, and be able to work under minimal or no supervision.
Education and Experience: Previous experience with G.O.L.D., Microsoft Office, and Lotus Notes is helpful.
