Job description

Warehouse Sanitation Associate

Nesco Resource is seeking dependable and safety-focused Warehouse Sanitation Associates to support sanitation operations for our client in Romulus, MI. This position is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized food production/distribution environment while following strict Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), food safety, and sanitation standards.

Location: Romulus, MI Shift: Monday โ€“ Friday | 8:00 AM โ€“ 4:00 PM Pay Rate: $15.50โ€“$16.50/hour

Responsibilities
  • Perform daily cleaning and sanitation duties throughout the facility, including washrooms, lunchrooms, offices, and common areas.
  • Clean and sanitize facility areas while following food safety and GMP requirements.
  • Operate industrial cleaning equipment, including floor scrubbers and industrial vacuums.
  • Sweep, mop, scrub, and maintain floors, stairs, walls, and other facility areas.
  • Clean and disinfect washrooms, fixtures, and high-touch surfaces.
  • Empty trash and waste containers and maintain proper disposal procedures.
  • Stock sanitation supplies, including soap, paper towels, and other materials.
  • Complete GMP sanitation records and required cleaning documentation.
  • Follow all food safety, health, and safety procedures.
  • Report food safety concerns or sanitation issues to appropriate personnel.
  • Assist with moving supplies, equipment, and furniture as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Previous sanitation, janitorial, warehouse, manufacturing, or food production experience preferred.
  • Experience working in a food manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), food safety, and sanitation procedures preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and follow detailed instructions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand and perform physical tasks for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work in a refrigerated/cold environment occasionally.
  • Must be comfortable working in a food production environment.
  • This is a scent-free facility.
  • No artificial nails or lash extensions
