Job Description
Summary/objective
Buffalo Rock is an award-winning Pepsi and Keurig Dr Pepper bottler founded in Birmingham, AL more than 123 years ago. Buffalo Rock manages the best beverage portfolio in the country, which includes several beloved global and regional brands. The Forklift Operator is a key member of the Franchise Operations Team Responsible for utilizing a forklift for general warehouse operations; replenishing product for pick zones, designated product pick areas, product flow racks, placing product back in stock, loading and unloading trucks, product movement and rotation.
Essential functions

  • Required to load and unload trucks by hand or forklift.
  • Required to move product in order to ensure correct rotation based on date coding.
  • Required to validate BOL's against actual load, notifying Inventory Coordinator of any discrepancies.
  • Required to verify load seal against the BOL.
  • Required to ensure loads are properly wrapped by machine or hand.
  • Required to build pallets accurately according to loading documents.
  • Required to ensure current safety policies are adhered to by all transport drivers.
  • Required to maintain and swap out electric batteries and/or propane tanks.
  • Required to assist in product movement between warehouses as requested.
  • Required to replenish product pick areas and keep these areas in product to endure the flow of the picking team.
  • Required to keep product pick areas stocked, filled and rotated.
  • Required to keep product stock areas organized, stocked, filled and rotated.
  • Restock returned product.
  • Required to park trucks and move vehicles as needed.
  • Responsible for wearing all assigned safety equipment and observing safety rules.
  • Assist in general housekeeping functions within the warehouse, offices and grounds.
  • Required to complete other activities assigned by supervisor.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
  • Must exhibit a high level of ethical and moral conduct while at work or in attendance of any off-site function during work hours or after work hours while representing the Buffalo Rock Company.
  • Responsible for continuous self-improvement through the knowledge and use of all Buffalo Rock provided training, either web-based, in-house, or any other provided method. Must successfully complete assigned training curriculum, including but not limited to online and/or facilitated training.

• All tasks within the warehouse are physically demanding and labor-intensive. Employees within this role are required have the ability to: stand, walk, stoop, reach and climb up and downstairs throughout shift as well as the ability to work in a fast paced and warm environment, especially during summer months.
Required education and experience
  • Education:
    • High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate); Preferred

Certifications and Licenses:
o Must be able to be forklift certified through Buffalo Rock.
o Valid Driver License, for state of residence, with good driving record; Preferred
