POSITION SUMMARY
A & Associates is seeking dependable and hardworking Warehouse Lumpers to support warehouse and dock operations.
The Warehouse Lumper is responsible for the safe and efficient loading and unloading of freight, sorting and staging products, palletizing shipments, and maintaining an organized work area. This is a physically demanding, hands-on position requiring consistent productivity, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Successful candidates will be reliable, safety-conscious, able to follow instructions, and comfortable performing repetitive lifting and material-handling duties throughout the shift.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Load and unload inbound and outbound trucks and trailers safely and efficiently.
  • Move, sort, stack, and stage freight in designated warehouse or dock areas.
  • Palletize loose products and prepare shipments for storage, distribution, or transportation.
  • Break down and deconsolidate incoming shipments as required.
  • Assist with cross-dock operations by transferring products from inbound to outbound staging areas.
  • Verify and organize freight according to destination, product type, or assigned location.
  • Inspect shipments for visible damage and immediately report damaged or improperly handled freight to the supervisor.
  • Safely use pallet jacks, hand trucks, carts, and other approved material-handling equipment.
  • Maintain accurate basic records, including load information, time logs, or other required warehouse documentation.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free dock and warehouse areas.
  • Follow all workplace safety procedures and proper lifting techniques.
  • Work collaboratively with warehouse associates, drivers, supervisors, and other team members to maintain efficient operations.
  • Complete additional warehouse or general labor duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous warehouse, loading/unloading, lumper, shipping/receiving, or general labor experience preferred.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, production-driven environment.
  • Strong attention to detail when sorting, staging, and handling freight.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality are required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers.
  • Forklift experience or certification is a plus but is not required unless specifically designated for the assignment.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must successfully complete any required pre-employment screening.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must be able to:
  • Frequently lift, carry, push, pull, and move freight throughout the shift.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds independently and heavier items with assistance or approved equipment.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Frequently bend, stoop, squat, reach, twist, and perform repetitive movements.
  • Safely maneuver freight and materials within trailers, loading docks, and warehouse areas.
  • Work at a steady pace while performing physically demanding duties.
  • Perform job responsibilities in varying warehouse temperatures and environmental conditions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Work is performed primarily in warehouse, loading dock, and trailer environments.

  • The position requires frequent interaction with warehouse equipment, freight, loading areas, and moving vehicles.
