Job Description

The Warehouse Technician plays a key role in supporting efficient warehouse operations by safely handling materials, processing inbound and outbound shipments, and maintaining accurate inventory records. This position requires regular use of material handling equipment, including forklifts, and involves working in a fast-paced environment to ensure products are correctly received, stored, and picked for distribution.

Responsibilities

  • Use material handling equipment to load and unload inbound and outbound shipments, including trucks and small parcel carriers.
  • Locate, pick, and move materials into and out of warehouse racks and between designated locations as required.
  • Safely operate assigned material handling equipment, including sit-down forklifts, and ensure all equipment is inspected and in safe operating condition before use.
  • Report all accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions promptly to the supervisor.
  • Stock and arrange products to support efficient warehouse inventory turns and easy access to materials.
  • Determine accurate material quantities through regular cycle counting and inventory checks.
  • Receive material into inventory and accurately move quantities between designated locations while maintaining correct electronic records.
  • Ensure accurate entry of part numbers, quantities, locations, and other data fields that affect electronic records of receipts and inventory.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies involving material quantities, part numbers, or inventory locations.
  • Locate parts while ensuring pallets are stable, pallet heights are appropriate, and racking and equipment are not damaged.
  • Keep materials and pallets properly stored so that aisles remain clear and safe for equipment and foot traffic.
  • Consistently practice safe material handling techniques in all warehouse activities.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties to maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
  • Demonstrate flexibility to work overtime and weekends as required to meet operational needs.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, recognizing that this is a safety-sensitive role.

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience in warehouse operations, including material handling and inventory processes.
  • Ability to safely operate a sit-down forklift and other material handling equipment.

Pay and Benefits
