Warehouse Positions

Warehouse Associates are responsible for performing an array of duties, such as receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders, packing, and shipping orders.

Kitting/Packing Associate

Warehouse Kit/Pack Associates are responsible for the filling customer orders by means of scale or hand count. Warehouse Kit/Pack associates complete the process by packing customers' orders in preparation for shipping. Warehouse Kit/Pack associates may also perform other duties, such as receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking, and shipping orders.

Packing Associate

Warehouse packing associates are responsible for packing orders. Warehouse packing associates pack customer orders in preparation for shipping to customers via UPS, FedEx, or other freight carriers. Warehouse packing associates may also perform other duties, such as receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking, and shipping orders.

Shipping Associate

Warehouse shipping associates are responsible for the tendering of packages through the CLS shipping station to ship FedEx, UPS, DHL, or other various freight carriers. Warehouse shipping associates may also be responsible for shipping customer orders LTL. LTL shipping includes arranging boxes on a pallet, wrapping the boxes and pallet, writing up a bill of lading, and contacting various LTL carriers to get the customer order(s) picked up and shipped.

Pull / Put-Away Associate

Warehouse Pull/Put-Away Associates are responsible for the pulling of product from various locations in the warehouse to fulfill customer orders. The associate is also responsible for the put-away or return the product into various warehouse locations if there is material remaining after order fulfillment.

Put Wall Associate

Warehouse Put Wall Associates are responsible for the pulling of customer line-item parts from the specified put wall area bins in the warehouse. The put wall associate gathers all items for customer orders, neatly organizes the parts on a cart, and takes the cart to the packing associates.

Receiving Associate

Warehouse Receiving Associates are responsible for unloading, unpacking, and uploading inbound vendor shipments into the company's system. In some cases, the receiving associate will need to contact the product buyers or quality departments within the company to verify product or discrepancies on count or lost / damaged inbound freight. Receiving associates must be organized and detailed to ensure items are uploaded into the system properly.

Replenishment Associate

Warehouse Replenishment Associates are responsible for the restocking of the warehouse pick module with needed inventory for smaller quantity orders. The restocking is done by pulling of inventory from the bulk stocking area of the warehouse, scanning the items into totes, and sending the totes up to the pick module via conveyor.

Inventory Control

Warehouse Inventory Associates are responsible for the investigation of missing inventory, Verification of each bin in the warehouse to ensure all inventory is accounted for on a quarterly basis, Justification of inventory adjustments, and completion of work orders. Inventory associates may also help investigate shipment count discrepancies for the Quality Department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Fill customer orders as assigned by picking, scale counting, packing, or shipping material.
  • Generate appropriate labels for product identification and/or mark materials with identifying information.
  • Prepare parcels for shipment in accordance with Heilind and customer specifications to prevent damage, ensure preservation, and accurate identification.
  • Work in a manner that promotes efficient handling and minimizes waste.
  • Participate in Company sponsored training and process improvement activities.
  • Comply with all Company Policies as defined in the Company's Warehouse Orientation Packet.
  • Pursue continuous improvement through training and process improvement.
  • Comply with all applicable elements of the Company's Quality Management System.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Must have attention to detail.
Education/Experience
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior warehouse experience preferred but not required.
  • Previous warehouse experience a plus.
Skills and Requirements
  • To perform the position, you much be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR. ITAR defines a US Person as a US Citizen, US Permanent Resident (I.e., 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
  • Must be able to report to assigned office location during scheduled in-office workdays.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to use electronic devices such as barcode scanners for material pulling and material put away.

*Position may require operating motor vehicles such as turret trucks, waves, forklifts, or packing machines. On the job training and certifications will be provided.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job the employee is often required to stand, sit, use computers, read, write, type, use copy machines, file paperwork, use telephones, and utilize written and oral communication to interact with clients, co-workers, and customers. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions of this job.

Must possess mobility to work in a standard warehouse setting and work with and around a variety of equipment, parts, and inventory, strength, stamina, and mobility to perform medium physical work; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone or radio. Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard or calculator. Positions in this classification bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and climb to perform work. Employees must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds and heavier weights with the proper equipment.

Working Conditions
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • This position is exposed to large moving equipment, including motorized pallet jacks, forklifts, lift trucks, and conveyor belts.
  • The facility is equipped with both air condition and heat.
