Job description

Position Summary:
The Packaging Operator is responsible for safely packaging finished profile products while ensuring they meet AHF Products' quality standards and customer specifications. This position supports efficient production by inspecting products, operating packaging equipment, maintaining accurate documentation, and keeping the work area clean and organized. Packaging Operators work closely with production, quality, and material handling teams to ensure products are packaged accurately and shipped in excellent condition.
JOB DUTIES:
Key Responsibilities
  • Package finished profile products according to work instructions and customer specifications.
  • Operate packaging equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Verify proper labeling, wrapping, banding, corner protection, and palletizing of finished products.
  • Complete MO transfers to the warehouse.
  • Monitor packaging equipment for minor issues and notify supervision or maintenance when necessary.
  • Ensure finished pallets are properly identified and ready for warehouse transport.
  • Inspect finished products for defects, damage, color consistency, and packaging accuracy.
  • Verify correct labels, product identification, and packaging materials are used.
  • Report quality concerns immediately to the Production Technician or Supervisor.
  • Help prevent damaged material from reaching customers.
  • Follow all AHF safety policies and wear required PPE at all times.
  • Operate equipment safely and report unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Maintain clean and organized packaging areas throughout the shift.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and company housekeeping standards.
  • Assist with product changeovers and packaging setup as needed.
  • Supply packaging materials to workstations when required.
  • Communicate production issues, shortages, or equipment concerns to the Production Technician or Supervisor.
  • Work with team members to maintain production flow and minimize downtime.
  • Complete required production and packaging paperwork accurately.
  • Record production quantities and packaging information.
  • Report scrap, damaged material, and packaging issues according to company procedures.
  • Help maintain inventory accuracy for packaging materials.

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience in flooring Profiling a plus.
  • Experience with extrusion, plastics, SPC flooring, or PVC compounding strongly preferred.

Skills & Competencies
  • Ability to follow detailed work instructions, material formulations, and batch processes.
  • Basic math and measurement skills.
  • Experience operating industrial processing or grinding equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality control.
  • Ability to work safely around powders, chemicals, and mechanical equipment.
  • Forklift experience preferred.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and repetitive movement.
  • Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including a respirator, for extended periods.
  • Exposure to airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration.
  • Ability to work in high-noise environments.

Work Environment
This position operates in an industrial manufacturing environment with exposure to raw material powders, heavy machinery, and elevated noise levels. The facility is not climate-controlled and may experience hot temperatures in the summer and cold temperatures in the winter. Employees are expected to adhere to all safety and housekeeping standards.
