Job description

Warehouse Supervisor (Closing Shift | Monday–Friday)
West Side Beer Distributing is seeking an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to lead our warehouse's closing operations at our Romulus location. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for supervising warehouse associates, ensuring customer orders are accurately selected and loaded, and preparing the warehouse for the next day's deliveries.

Schedule: Monday-Friday | 10:00 AM-7:00 PM (or until all customer orders are completed)
Salary: $60,000-$65,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications
Reports To: Operations Manager
FLSA Status: Exempt

About the Role
As the Warehouse Supervisor, you will oversee the warehouse's closing operations and lead a team responsible for preparing customer orders for next-day delivery. You'll coach and develop employees, monitor productivity, ensure inventory accuracy, and maintain a safe, organized warehouse environment. This position partners closely with Warehouse Management, Inventory, and Transportation to ensure daily operations are completed efficiently while meeting company standards for safety, quality, and customer service.
What You'll Do
  • Lead daily warehouse closing operations to ensure customer orders are accurately selected, loaded, and prepared for next-day delivery.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop warehouse associates through training, performance feedback, and accountability.
  • Monitor productivity, attendance, and overall team performance.
  • Utilize the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and voice-pick technology to support efficient warehouse operations.
  • Monitor key operational metrics and identify opportunities to improve productivity, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Coordinate with Inventory and Transportation teams to resolve operational issues and ensure on-time deliveries.
  • Verify outbound loads, inventory rotation, and order accuracy.
  • Conduct routine warehouse inspections to maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety.
  • Ensure warehouse equipment is operated safely and report maintenance concerns as needed.
  • Assist with accident investigations, safety initiatives, and OSHA compliance.
  • Complete payroll review, reports, and operational documentation accurately and on time.
  • Promote a positive, team-focused culture centered on safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
What You'll Need
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum two years of warehouse leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience in beverage distribution, food distribution, logistics, or warehouse operations preferred.
  • Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
  • Forklift and/or Electric Pallet Jack certification preferred (or ability to obtain after hire).
  • CDL-A license is a plus but not required.
  • Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work extended hours when operational needs require.
  • Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen, background check, and motor vehicle record review (if applicable).
Physical Requirements
  • Frequently stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout the warehouse.
  • Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds independently.
  • Work in warehouse, refrigerated cooler, and outdoor environments.
  • Safely operate warehouse equipment while enforcing company safety standards.
  • Maintain productivity, quality, and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
