This individual leads warehouse and refurbishment operations, supports compliance with R2 and NAID standards, helps with managing inventory, and supports staff in achieving financial and mission-driven goals. The role blends expertise in warehouse and tech refurbishment operations, e-waste and R2/NAID compliance, vendor coordination, and internal staff development. The goal is to maximize efficiency, ensure compliance, meet targets, and scale sustainable impact through consistent systems and leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Market Oversight

  • Serve as the primary operations leader for the local market, overseeing warehouse, refurbishment, retail, surplus, and logistics activities in the absence of the Operations Manager.
  • Help to align local operations with national objectives and SOPs developed in coordination with the operations leadership team.
  • Ensure adherence to warehouse, technology, and e-waste management procedures.
  • Support consistent execution of organizational policies, certifications, and standards (R2, NAID, ISO, DOT).

Operational Leadership

  • Lead local staff to achieve KPIs for device reuse, inventory throughput, e-waste management, and facility performance in the absence of the Operations Manager.
  • Champion strategies that increase device reuse, improve intake sorting, and reduce unnecessary recycling.
  • Monitor performance metrics and proactively identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure inventory is efficiently processed and stocked.
  • Coordinate with the Impact team to fulfill bulk orders, events, and client distributions.
  • Partner with Enterprise Partnerships to ensure readiness for client pickups, accurate logging, and timely processing.
  • Monitor downstream vendor compliance, settlements, and environmental certifications.

Vendor Management & Supply Chain

  • Coordinate local vendor relationships, including recyclers, supply vendors, freight/logistics providers, and facility service partners.
  • Ensure vendors meet compliance standards and service expectations.
  • Maintain availability of operational supplies (PPE, packaging, repair parts, cleaning materials).
  • Support cost-saving initiatives through accurate inventory of supplies and efficient vendor coordination.

Facility Safety & Compliance

  • Maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization across all facility spaces.
  • Conduct monthly facility inspections and maintain equipment through preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Support internal audits, certifications, and compliance documentation.
  • Monitor DOT standards for transportation and all NAID chain-of-custody requirements are upheld.
  • Enforce safety culture by leading training, documenting incidents, and implementing corrective actions.

People & Performance Management

  • Directly supervise warehouse associates, technicians, drivers, and volunteers.
  • Provide coaching and accountability for meeting KPIs and mission targets.
  • Lead onboarding and training of new staff and support ongoing development opportunities.
  • Hold regular team meetings and daily huddles to reinforce expectations, provide updates, and resolve challenges.
  • Partner with HR and national leadership on performance management and staff accountability.

Volunteer & Community Workgroup Integration

  • Integrate volunteer labor and workgroups into daily operations (target: ~30% of labor where applicable).
  • Provide systems, training, and supervision to ensure high-quality output from volunteers.
  • Conduct QA checks on all work produced by volunteers and community partners.
  • Participate in quarterly inventory counts and month-end close processes.
  • Support cross-market collaboration when requested by national leadership.
  • Other duties as requested.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years in warehouse, tech refurbishment, or operational experience
  • Familiarity with e-waste, R2/NAID compliance, and ISO 14001/45001 standards.
  • Strong inventory management, staff support, and vendor coordination experience.
  • Proven success leading teams and driving operational KPIs.
  • Passion for digital equity, sustainability, and scalable community impact.
  • Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work independently in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Must be flexible, self-motivated, and adaptable
