Job description

Materials - Customer Service Representative

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for providing customer service support, coordinate whole cycle order to delivery process and support master production scheduling for the molding and assembly operation.  Maintain Customer satisfaction  through timely and accurate processing of customer purchase orders, order acknowledgements and providing order status information.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices and SOPs as defined by Viant policies, procedures, and practices to ensure that FDA regulations, ISO standards, and Viant quality standards are met
  • Act as secondary point of contact for site customer service needs
  • Monitor and Drive Improvement for  On Time Delivery Misses
  • Provides price and delivery information to process orders
  • Perform Order Entry/Sales Order confirmation process
  • Communicate with customers on status of orders
  • Perform as a backup, master production planning functions to support customer requirements
  • Support as needed to Prepare all work orders that are added to the production schedule.  Keep record of all work orders assigned part numbers and quantities.
  • Support logistics and warehouse activities as needed
  • Assist in departmental improvement projects
  • Support sourcing process by entering requisitions and assigning PO’s when needed
  • Places purchase orders for MRO items submitted through purchase requisitions.  Reviews purchase requisitions for accuracy, pricing, account coding and delivery insuring the requested supplier is on the Approved Supplier List and the appropriate approvals have been obtained.
  • Prepares reports, plans and updates CS and sourcing metrics as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associates Degree in business or related field
  • 2 - 3 years of experience in Supply Chain, Planning and/or Customer Service
  • Experience with ERP system
  • Lean Certification preferred but not required
  • APICS Certification preferred but not required
  • Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment preferred but not required
  • Computer literate with advanced Microsoft Office skills

Physical Requirements:

  • Typical office environment with long periods of sitting and usage of hands and computer.
  • Moderate amounts of amounts of walking, sitting, standing, bending, kneeling, stooping, pushing, pulling, reaching, lifting, and twisting.
  • Occasional lifting and/or carrying up to 20 pounds.
  • Some duties may be performed in the Warehouse of manufacturing plant, which can be hot in summer, hazardous, noisy and dusty. 
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Outlook

 

OTHER:

The role is required to be 100% onsite with occasional travel as deemed necessary.
