Job description

The Warehouse Superintendent is responsible for planning, directing and coordinating the activities and operations of the 2nd shift warehouse in Coldwater, MI. The position requires a strong leader who can manage and direct the overall operation by setting a vision and goals for each department along with tools to measure performance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Direct and coordinate activities of all day shift warehousing and distribution needs.
  • Review financial statements, sales and activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas needing cost reduction and program improvement.
  • Ensures all equipment and machinery are accounted for and properly maintained.
  • Ensures all records are monitored and reported on in a timely basis.
  • Ensures areas are neat, clean, and orderly at all times.
  • Assist in the development, direction and coordination of department's functional and capital budget activities to fund operations, optimize assets and increase efficiency.
  • Establish and implement departmental policies, goals, objectives and procedures, conferring with organization leadership across all departments and areas.
  • Determines staffing requirements, interviews, hires and trains new employees, or oversees those personnel processes.
  • Continually seeks to build and improve the team through utilization of CFG's Continuous Improvement process and through aggressive performance management.
  • Systematically cultivates and maintains long-term, collaborative relationships with key stakeholders and with selected organizations to achieve mutual goals while ensuring clarity, understanding and commitment.
  • Keeps up to date on technology, trends and issues affecting the industry and develops strategies to address these issues.
  • Acts as a representative and ambassador to the local community to promote positive relationships and strong partnerships for the benefit of the organization.
  • Facilitates the development, maintenance and monitoring of organizational plans.
  • Monitors vendors to ensure they effectively provide needed services while staying within budgetary limits.
  • Develops innovative initiatives to enhance internal efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain or relevant discipline and 7-10 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Perishables distribution center experience preferred
  • Must be able to work fluctuating hours as needed to facilitate production demands.
  • Must learn and understand in-house inventory/production software and the Microsoft Office Suite (primarily Outlook, Word and Excel).
