Summary/Objective
The Warehouse and Purchasing Manager is responsible for overseeing the seamless organization, receipt, storage, and distribution of materials received from suppliers and production, ensuring efficient operations to meet internal and external customer requirements. This role combines warehouse management with purchasing oversight to enhance material availability, streamline inventory control, and optimize supplier relationships.
Essential Functions

  • Monitors and measures receiving and warehouse performance for accuracy of receiving reports, movement and storage of material, and transfers to service parts.
  • Ensures materials are stored properly to conserve space and comply with safety procedures. Oversees the rotation of inventories within the warehouse.
  • Monitors the unloading of all materials into the receiving department; ensures materials are staged for counting and inspection; ensures receiving reports accurately report material received. Resolves discrepancies with accounting regarding invoices, packing slips, and receiver reports. Monitors the flow of paperwork from receiving to inventory control for timely data entry. Oversees the movement of material from receiving to the warehouse in an efficient, effective, and safe manner.
  • Ensure compliance with OGI's safety standards and OSHA regulations, promoting a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Maintain and manage the inventory system to ensure real-time accuracy of stock levels and support production requirements.
  • Partner with suppliers to build a stable, capable supply base and optimize supplier performance to align with business objectives.
  • Use Lean Six Sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement and manage inventory, suppliers, and materials efficiently.
  • Facilitate coordination with Purchasing, Engineering, Accounting, Project Management, and Quality Assurance to support strategic goals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive alignment on supply plans, address underperforming processes or suppliers, and maintain key performance metrics.
  • Plan, organize, evaluate, and delegate tasks within the warehouse and supply chain teams to meet staffing and operational needs.
  • This combined role ensures end-to-end oversight of the material's flow, from sourcing through delivery, while maintaining a high standard of warehouse operations and supplier management.

OGI has determined this position involves safety-sensitive job duties and will be considered a safety-sensitive position for purpose of the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act ("The Unity Bill.") effective August 29th, 2019.

Supervisor Responsibility
This position has supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
Non-temperature-controlled environment with loud noises, dust, dirt, and metal particles that are usually associated with metal fabrication shops. All employees are required to wear personal protective equipment to include noise/hearing protection, safety glasses with side shields, and OSHA compliant safety boots/shoes within the manufacturing facility.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing duties of this job, the employee in this position is regularly required to stand for long periods of time. This position requires walking, the ability to reach, ascend/descend ladders, bend, kneel, and stoop. The employee occasionally will lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This position may occasionally require evening or weekend work depending on production needs.

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Minimum 3 years of prior experience in warehousing, receiving, inventory control or materials management in a manufacturing environment
  • Minimum 2 years of previous supervisory experience required
  • Possession of strong organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks
