General Job Description
Position Summary
IES Residential is seeking a Warehouse Manager to join our team. Previous warehouse, inventory management, and operations leadership experience is preferred. We are looking for a highly organized, safety-focused professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can effectively oversee warehouse operations, inventory control, workforce management, and operational support activities.
Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee daily warehouse operations, inventory management, and material handling activities.
  • Coordinate with office staff, vendors, field personnel, and delivery teams regarding operational requirements and schedules.
  • Monitor inventory levels, material usage, and warehouse performance to support operational efficiency.
  • Ensure accurate receiving, stocking, tracking, and distribution of materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Develop and maintain inventory control procedures and warehouse operational standards.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, training, and support to warehouse personnel and supervisory staff.
  • Review and maintain inventory records, reports, and warehouse documentation within company systems.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and operational efficiencies.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and resource planning related to warehouse operations.
  • Maintain professionalism and excellent customer service at all times.
  • Contribute as a team player in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Perform additional administrative and operational support tasks as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Previous warehouse, inventory management, or operations leadership experience preferred.
  • Construction, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, or service industry experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency with computers, inventory systems, ERP software, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of inventory control, warehouse operations, and safety procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment screenings such as background and motor vehicle record checks.
  • English speaking, reading, and writing preferred, and required where necessary to perform job duties.
  • Spanish speaking preferred.
  • Maintain professionalism and a positive, respectful demeanor with customers, coworkers, and business partners.

Education/Experience
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Relevant industry certifications or licenses preferred, and required where necessary to perform job duties.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment
  • Use warehouse equipment, tools, phones, tablets.
  • Ability to effectively multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and adapt to changing operational demands.
  • Ability to work overtime, modified schedules, or occasional weekends as business needs require.
  • Stand, walk, climb ladders and stairs, kneel, bend, stoop, crouch, crawl, reach, and lift throughout the workday.
  • Sit for extended periods while driving to and between job sites.
  • Work on active job sites, indoors and outdoors, including attics, crawlspaces, and confined or elevated spaces, with exposure to varying weather, construction noise, dust, and other job site conditions.
  • Wear safety gear such as Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Maintain dependable transportation and consistent, reliable attendance to meet customer service and operational needs.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and make independent decisions within established company policies and procedures.
  • Communicate in person, by phone, and electronically, including on a tablet, smartphone, and other office technology.
  • Travel as required to support project and operational needs.
  • Perform all work on-site and in person; this is not a remote or hybrid position.
  • Lift, carry, push, and pull at least 50 pounds.
