This position specification is intended to describe the general duties and responsibilities associated with the role and shall not be construed as a comprehensive statement of all duties, responsibilities, or requirements.Position SummaryThe Warehouse Manager is responsible for managing and supervising warehouse operations to ensure a safe, efficient, and productive work environment while maintaining compliance with established policies, procedures, and quality standards. This position oversees the receiving, handling, storage, inventory control, order fulfillment, and shipment of products and materials.The Warehouse Manager is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy, coordinating order processing, monitoring shipping, and receiving activities, and ensuring products are handled and stored appropriately. This position works closely with Production, Purchasing, Transportation, and other departments to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of customer and operational requirements while supporting the organization's overall quality, safety, and productivity objectives.Essential duties and Responsibilities Ensures a safe, clean, organized, and sanitary working environment for all warehouse employees and visitors. Ensures warehouse operations function at peak efficiency by supervising, organizing, directing, and training warehouse personnel while establishing, monitoring, and achieving departmental operational goals. Assists with the maintenance, inspection, and proper operation of warehouse and transportation equipment used by the department. Assists with inventory control activities to ensure accurate inventory levels, proper product rotation, and the prevention and minimization of product spoilage, waste, and loss. Assists with monitoring and controlling departmental costs in accordance with established budgets, operational procedures, and company objectives. Coordinates daily shipping assignments with assigned warehouse personnel to ensure orders are processed accurately and on time. Ensures established procedures are followed to maintain product safety and quality for all customers, including Foodservice and Retail customers. Maintains accurate records of warehouse transactions, customer requirements, inventory activity, and applicable company policies and procedures. Assists the Production Manager with maintaining accurate records related to product recalls, traceability, and local distribution. Supports customer order fulfillment by coordinating with Supervisors, Leads, and Warehouse Associates to ensure orders are completed accurately and on schedule. Performs and/or supervises the initial and ongoing training of warehouse employees, including job-specific procedures, safety practices, GMPs, food safety, and company policies. Utilizes computer systems, warehouse management systems, and other applicable technology to generate reports, monitor operations, and maintain accurate inventory records. Conducts safety training and periodic employee meetings and ensures compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations concerning employee safety. Provides recommendations regarding the hiring of warehouse personnel and oversees special or job-specific training as needed. Keeps employees informed regarding work assignments, performance expectations, operational changes, work progress, and opportunities for advancement. Conducts and documents performance evaluations for introductory employees, regular employees, and employees whose employment is ending, as directed by the Company. Monitors attendance, absenteeism, and tardiness in accordance with Company policies and procedures and approves time-off requests as appropriate. Reviews and verifies employee timecards for accuracy and approves overtime when necessary and authorized. Implements appropriate coaching, disciplinary, and problem-resolution procedures in accordance with Company policies and HR guidance. Ensures the accuracy and integrity of raw material, packaging material, and finished-goods inventory. Meets regularly with Warehouse Leads to review operational performance, analyze productivity and loss-prevention trends, and develop and implement actionable improvement plans. Supports continuous improvement initiatives designed to increase productivity, reduce waste and loss, improve inventory accuracy, and enhance warehouse efficiency. Maintains compliance with applicable Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety requirements, HACCP procedures, safety policies, and American Jerky Company LLC policies and procedures. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support the ongoing needs and objectives of the organization.Physical DemandsThe employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20-40 pounds.Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles.The employee must be able to walk the warehouse frequently.Work environmentThe noise level in the work environment is moderate.Environmental conditions the employee will be subject to in this position: Extreme cold: Temperatures below 28 degrees for periods of more than one hour.Ability to work carefully around forklifts, freezers, and coolers.Hazard: Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places.Qualifications/AbilitiesForklift Driver?s License RecommendedHigh School diploma or GED College degree desirableExperience in DistributionAble to work evenings, weekends and holidays.Prefer bilingual (English / Spanish) Ability to read, write, and speak.Organizational relationshipPlant ManagementProductionOutside vendors
