Job description

Thompson First Group is seeking a Weigh Technician for a leading manufacturer and distributor of specialty laboratory and chemical products in Newark, DE. This position plays an important role in ensuring products are accurately picked, weighed, packaged, and prepared for shipment while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and inventory accuracy.

This opportunity is ideal for candidates who enjoy detail-oriented work in a clean warehouse or production environment. Previous experience in warehousing, order fulfillment, packing, inventory control, material handling, or distribution is highly preferred. Candidates who take pride in accuracy, organization, and working safely as part of a team are encouraged to apply.

Description of Duties/Responsibilities

  • Candidates with a background working in a warehouse setting, or experience completing packing, stacking or replenishment are encouraged to apply
  • Select stock according to store order (picking and packing instructions)
  • Accurately record quantities selected (or shorted) maintaining the company standard error rate
  • Adhere to all safety rules and practices designed to ensure safety of operations and condition of stock
  • Perform assigned tasks to maintain a clean and safe working environment
  • Perform general physical activities in warehouse; loading, unloading, sorting and moving products and materials manually and using material handling equipment
  • Read work orders and received verbal instructions for work assignments
  • Fill and complete order receipts
  • Transport filled orders to and from shipping area
  • Stock shelves and kept stock clean and in sequence
  • Performed general cleaning duties

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, or fulfillment environment
  • Experience with order picking, inventory management, shipping, receiving, or material handling
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately record inventory and quantities
  • Comfortable working with established procedures and quality standards
  • Ability to lift, move, and transport materials throughout the workday
  • Dependable attendance and a commitment to workplace safety
  • Forklift or other material handling equipment experience is a plus, but not required
