Job description

Department: NIAR Center for Aircraft Modification & Operations (CAMO)
Campus Location: Wichita, KS-WSU McConnell
Hire Type: Full Time
Pay: Commensurate with experience
Work Schedule: Typically Monday - Friday; 3:00pm - 11:30pm. Hours may vary depending upon business need. Work is required to be completed in-person and on-site.
Export Compliance Requirement: This position requires access to EAR or ITAR controlled technologies. Applicants are required to be eligible for employment under U.S. export control laws and must meet the requirement of being a "U.S. Person".
Job Details
In a hangar adjacent to McConnell AFB that once housed Boeing Air Force One modification facilities, the CAMO team at NIAR provides production design, initial and Supplemental Type Certification, instrumentation installation, modifications and field support/repair. We are looking for a Warehouse Associate to join our team!
Job Summary
Performs all aspects of warehouse functions including the receiving, storing, handling, and preparing of product for customer delivery. Maintains the warehouse in a safe and orderly fashion.
Essential Functions
Accurately and promptly receives and inspects material coming into the facility by vendors, customers, or other warehouses. Verifies the quantity and description of materials received by checking merchandise against the packing list. Examines incoming shipments and rejects damaged items. Prepares and maintains required documentation. Prepares receiving reports, reports and records discrepancies in materials, and prepares shipping documentation. Assembles and fills orders to be shipped to customers. Reviews all orders to determine if they were picked correctly. Completes and maintains inventory of warehouse including tasks such as monitoring quantity received; printing back orders and completing inventory stock put-away list; attaching identifying tag or labels to materials or marking information on containers; accurately identifying and counting stock materials as listed on the cycle count list; accurately placing materials on shelves, in racks, or other designated storage areas in an orderly manner. Ensures warehouse and equipment is maintained on a regular basis. Maintains the warehouse in an orderly fashion, including floor, racks, and workstations.
Required Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Six (6) months of warehouse and/or distribution experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to identify product size, type, style, and color or product code.
Proficient reading skills - must be able to read orders/match orders on shipping tickets to items picked.
Demonstrated basic math and reasoning skills.
Ability to understand and execute instructions.
Demonstrated general understanding of the warehouse and footprint.
Ability to operate inventory control equipment (i.e. bar-coding equipment, handheld devices).
Physical Requirements:
Ability to position self to move and/or transfer materials, mail, equipment and/or supplies. Ability to inspect and/or surveil materials, equipment, reports, and/or incidents and identify any errors, needs and/or determining factors. Ability to position self for inspection, construction or maintenance of equipment and/or buildings including confined, elevated and loud noise spaces. Ability to position self to place, construct, and/or maintain equipment and items in designated spaces. This includes but is not limited to the ability to work in confined and elevated spaces. Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information. Ability to move, transport, and/or deliver items, supplies, or equipment.
