U.S. Electrical Services, Inc. is seeking an Inventory Lead to join our Distribution Center in Middletown, CT.
Reporting to the Inventory Control Supervisor, the Inventory Lead serves as the primary resource for daily inventory operations, ensuring inventory accuracy, supporting warehouse productivity, and promoting safe, efficient work practices. This position provides day-to-day guidance to Inventory Associates, coordinates inventory activities, and partners with warehouse leadership to resolve inventory discrepancies and improve operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate daily inventory control activities to support warehouse operations and customer fulfillment.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance, training, and support to Inventory Associates while promoting accountability, productivity, and safe work practices.
  • Perform and oversee cycle counts, location audits, inventory adjustments, and product investigations to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Research, analyze, and resolve inventory discrepancies utilizing warehouse management systems and operational reports.
  • Monitor inventory movement, replenishment, and slotting to optimize product flow and warehouse efficiency.
  • Operate warehouse equipment, including reach trucks, forklifts, cherry pickers, and electric pallet jacks, in accordance with company safety standards.
  • Utilize RF scanners and warehouse management systems to complete inventory transactions accurately.
  • Partner with Operations, Receiving, Shipping, and Quality teams to investigate and resolve inventory-related issues.
  • Assist with root cause analysis and recommend process improvements to reduce inventory errors and improve operational efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and documentation.
  • Ensure inventory locations remain organized, properly identified, and compliant with company standards.
  • Support annual physical inventories and other inventory initiatives.
  • Promote a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support business operations.

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Three or more years of warehouse, inventory control, or distribution experience preferred.
  • Previous experience leading daily work activities or serving as a team lead preferred.
  • Experience operating powered industrial equipment, including forklifts, reach trucks, cherry pickers, and electric pallet jacks.
  • Experience utilizing RF scanners and warehouse management systems.
  • Strong understanding of inventory control principles, cycle counting, and inventory accuracy.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify problems, investigate root causes, and implement effective solutions.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate across departments.
  • Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced distribution environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and inventory management software preferred.
