Job description

The Inventory Control and Shipping Clerk is responsible for maintaining and monitoring inventory levels, performing cycle counts, and preparing outgoing shipments and shipping reports. Their duties include organizing inventory for easy retrieval, reviewing incoming and outgoing shipment schedules to maintain productive operations, and documenting damage to inventory. Some data input and report generation is required.
Works under the close direction of the Department Manager and Senior Management.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Performs Cycle Counts and Monitors Inventory Levels
  • Generates reports on Inventory levels as needed
  • Manages the shipment of all products, materials, and supplies.
  • Collaborates and communicates with logistics technicians, customer service representatives, service providers, and others involved in the shipment of products.
  • Tracks, traces, and updates the status of outgoing shipments.
  • Maintains a clean, neat, and member-ready area.
  • Maintains an accurate log sheet of daily moves, scanning inventory, and counting accurately.
  • Generates Shipping Reports as needed.
  • Engages with vendors and drivers with a positive attitude.
  • Provides additional backup support for stockroom and receiving departments.
  • Keeps files of goods shipped by preparing regular shipping reports for managers

  • Forklift certification preferred or ability to obtain within 90 days

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted and perform physical tasks in a warehouse environment

Physical Requirements:
  • Must possess mobility to work in a standard warehouse setting and work with and around a variety of equipment, parts, and inventory, to operate a motor vehicle and forklift
  • Strength, stamina, and mobility to perform medium physical work; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.
  • Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard or calculator.
  • Positions in this classification bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and climb to perform work. Employees must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
