Job description

Warehouse Associate I

This position will be responsible for performing tasks related to warehouse inventory. This includes, but is not limited to, processing incoming inventory, shelving processed inventory, shipping orders from inventory, and performing routine inventory maintenance functions.

Essential functions include the ability to use a computer, tablet, scan gun, and various inventory management programs. The role requires the ability to focus on a single task for extended periods of time, consistently exhibit a favorable BPH rate or other performance indicia for at least one department, meet departmental KPIs, and use a pallet jack, baler, box cutter, conveyors, and other tools in a safe manner. The candidate must also be able to use a computer to check email and utilize the internet, stand on feet for 8-10 hours at a time, safely climb step stools and ladders, and consistently lift 50 lbs. throughout the shift, including reaching, stooping, and bending. Additionally, the role requires maintaining a clean workplace, accepting additional tasks as assigned, demonstrating strong attention to detail, possessing excellent verbal and written communication skills, having a high level of personal and professional integrity and trustworthiness, having a strong work ethic and sense of initiative, and being able to work well independently and as part of a team. The candidate must also possess an understanding and commitment to the values and mission of Better World Books, have a willingness to learn and adapt in an ever-changing environment, and have the ability to grasp new concepts and teach them to others through hands-on instruction. A passion for the BWB mission and a strong desire to provide excellent service to our customers is also required.

High School diploma or G.E.D. preferred. One (1) year continuous work history preferred. Employee maintains satisfactory attendance record. Alignment with core values of BWB.
