Description

Purpose of the Job:

The Parts Clerk is responsible for accurate picking, issuing, and inventory control of aircraft parts and materials within an FAA-certified repair station. This role ensures that only properly documented, airworthy parts are issued to maintenance personnel while maintaining strict compliance with Federal Aviation Administration regulations and internal quality procedures.


Reports to: MRO Operations Manager


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Pick and stage aircraft parts and materials based on work orders
  • Verify part numbers, quantities, and required documentation prior to issuing materials
  • Ensure all issued parts meet airworthiness requirements in accordance with 14 CFR Part 145
  • Maintain full traceability of inventory, including serial numbers, lot numbers, and batch records
  • Perform accurate transactions in ERP/CMMS systems for all picks, issues, returns, and adjustments
  • Conduct routine cycle counts and assist with physical inventory audits to ensure accuracy
  • Reconcile inventory discrepancies and investigate root causes of variances
  • Properly label and store inventory to prevent damage, misidentification, or loss
  • Control shelf-life items and ensure proper stock rotation (FIFO/FEFO as applicable)
  • Segregate and identify unserviceable, quarantined, or non-conforming parts
  • Return unused or excess materials to stock with proper inspection and documentation review
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and audit-ready stockroom environment

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Strong attention to detail, especially with part numbers and documentation
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform repetitive physical tasks
  • Experience in an FAA Part 145 Repair Station or aviation environment
  • Familiarity with FAA Form 8130-3 and traceability requirements
  • Knowledge of bin location systems, barcode scanning, and cycle counting best practices
  • Understanding of inventory control methods (FIFO, FEFO, min/max levels)
