Job description

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Scheduling truck appointments through the applicable scheduling system
  • Documents/inputs truck/rail tickets in system
  • Reviews all applicable bill of landings and delivery orders
  • Responsible for dispatching / organizing truck traffic throughout the terminal
  • Verify and acknowledge delivery orders are complete for billing purposes
  • Communicate with Customers and their logistic companies as it relates to terminal-based activities
  • Communicates with all terminal operation management team members to ensure accuracy of documents handled and cargo loaded/moved.
  • Commitment to customer service and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Resolve issues as they arise directly with customers, as needed.
  • Work with Terminal Supervisor(s) regarding the loading and unloading of trucks/barges/railcars
  • Multi-tasking abilities with phones, computer systems, documents, paperwork, deliveries, terminal dispatching and scheduling.
  • Report ALL incidents through company’s reporting protocol
  • Support company safety initiatives
  • Demonstrate knowledge of all the required competencies and efficiencies 
  • Able to work overtime and weekends, as work dictates
  • Ability to communicate with Truck Drivers directly and indirectly.
  • Adapt to preforming other duties, as required.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 1-3 years of similar experience in a maritime/ industrial or warehousing environment

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Incumbent will work in all weather conditions ranging from warm/hot-cool/cold. Will work at different elevations; noise levels will be moderate-high. Job site will contain light to heavy equipment vehicles, small to large equipment, materials, communication equipment, and tools.  Overtime and weekends are required from time to time.  Eight to ten hours per day spent in work environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The physical nature of the work will vary from day to day based on operational needs; however, the job will require the incumbent to be able to perform: climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, typing, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motion. Incumbent will also be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including, but not limited to: Hard Hat, eyewear, safety vests, and steel toe shoes, when necessary.

Very moderate Work: Exerting in excess of 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/ or in excess of 25 lbs. frequently, and/ or in excess of 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.

Able to lift overhead 20-25 lbs. Able to sit and or stand for long periods at a time as well as climbing up and down stairs.
