Description:

Job Summary:The Warehouse Associate will move product by hand to and from a staging area to build new orders or tear down orders returned to the plant, and to load and unload trucks. Other duties may be assigned.
Essential Job Functions:

  • This position is considered safety sensitive due to the required operation of forklifts, pallet jacks and other heavy machinery. Safe operation requires a constant state of alertness and awareness of the surroundings at all times
  • Use appropriate material handling equipment to move product and materials from/to designated locations to support bulk activities in an efficient and safe manner
  • “Build” pallets/orders as needed/directed to support successful order fulfillment
  • Review customer orders to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributed
  • Identify product by description and quantity; Remove product from area and transport to staging area using a pallet jack or forklift
  • Work accurately to control warehouse inventory to keep shrink at acceptable level
  • Efficiently load/unload route trucks, bulk rigs and transports with a forklift
  • Assist the daily housekeeping and maintenance of warehouse grounds
  • Sort and place materials or items on racks according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, or product code
  • Adheres to all policies and procedures relating to product age and quality
  • Understand the safety culture and strives for 100% compliance concerning safety observations
  • Perform various duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • Ability to read, speak, write and understand English to perform basic math skills (Addition, subtraction, multiplication and division)
  • Proven history or ability to demonstrate safe/ responsible behavior, and a positive performance record
  • Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment while meeting productivity and quality expectations
  • Must be self-motivated, respectful, positive, team oriented and maintain a high degree of integrity
  • Willingness to operate common warehouse equipment (forklifts and pallet jack)
  • Must be willing and able to repetitively lift up to 55 pounds, push, pull, stand, squat, bend and reach
  • Must maintain a neat uniform and professional appearance
  • Ability to withstand exposure to limited climate control within the facility
