Job description

Job Title:  Shipping & Receiving / Warehouse Associate – Turlock

Job Function:  Keep it Moving.  Process inbound and outbound shipments accurately, maintain warehouse organization, and support the Parts Department to deliver the right products at the right time.

Reporting Relationships:  You report directly to the Parts Manager and the Parts Director. You have a functional relationship with the General Manager, counter sales staff, and delivery personnel.

Responsibility:  As Shipping & Receiving / Warehouse Associate, you are responsible for accurately checking in parts, processing shipments, maintaining warehouse organization, and filling customer parts reservations. You play a key role in ensuring the department runs without backlog.

Principal Duties:  The principal duties of this position consist of, but are not limited to the following:

  • Maintaining a positive attitude and willingness to work hard at all times.
  • Safety: Safely loading and unloading trucks while checking for accuracy and damage.
  • Receiving, inspecting, and checking in incoming parts shipments against purchase orders.
  • Processing and preparing outbound shipments including packaging, labeling, and carrier coordination.
  • Accurately entering shipment data and inventory transactions into the dealership management system.
  • Checking in parts and filling customer parts reservations accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintaining organized and clean warehouse and parts storage areas at all times.
  • Returning parts to proper storage locations immediately after use or receipt.
  • Identifying and resolving shipment discrepancies; communicating issues to the Parts Manager.
  • Assisting phone-in customers and counter staff as department needs dictate.
  • Supporting delivery duties when needed, including parts pick-up and drop-off as assigned.
  • Conducting routine inventory counts and assisting with cycle counts as directed.
  • Handling and disposing of hazardous materials carefully and in accordance with company policy.
  • Being a self-starter — identifying and completing tasks independently between assignments.
  • Participating in mandatory safety meetings held at minimum three times per year.
  • All other duties as assigned by your Parts Manager or supervisor.

Standards and Measurement of Performance:  You will meet or exceed expectations when the following occur:

  • Your attendance is punctual, and you show up ready to work with a good attitude.
  • Damaged goods and shortages are identified upon delivery and noted on the BOL.
  • Inbound shipments are checked in accurately with no errors and no backlog.
  • Customer parts reservations are filled correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Warehouse and storage areas are consistently clean, organized, and safe.
  • Outbound shipments are processed accurately and on time.
  • You willingly assist in other areas when the need arises and when assigned by your Parts Manager.
  • Fulfilling the described responsibilities, duties, and Company policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Valid California driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal directions accurately.
  • Good communication skills and a team-first attitude.
  • Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision and no backlog.
  • Willingness to work overtime as requested and approved by supervisor.

Preferred:

  • Prior experience in shipping, receiving, warehousing, or a parts department.
  • Familiarity with agricultural equipment or dealership operations.
  • Experience with dealership management or inventory software.

Physical Requirements:  Must be able to stand, walk, and move throughout the warehouse for extended periods. Must be able to lift and carry parts and packages up to 50 lbs. regularly and heavier items with assistance.
