Packaging and Ingredients Coordinator
As the Packaging and Ingredients Coordinator you will be responsible for coordinating purchasing activities of packaging and ingredient supplies for Masters Gallery Foods, Inc. This position is also responsible for purchasing non-inventory items used to support plant operations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Purchase all packaging supplies and ingredients (i.e. film, corrugated, anti-cake, seasonings) for production use.
  • Issue purchase orders for packaging, ingredients and non-inventory items.
  • Coordinate, collect and analyze plant usage data for all purchased supplies.
  • Coordinate purchases of supplies to meet lead time requirements of our vendors and minimize expenditures.
  • Coordinate and purchase non-inventory items for plant operations use (i.e. hairnets, gloves, paper products, cleaning chemicals, etc.).
  • Obtain price quotes for new projects and redesign of existing products.
  • Handle vendor-managed inventory of packaging supplies for Biery Cheese, American Dairy Brands and GLC for retail / resale products.
  • Expedite daily releases to suppliers for packaging and ingredients to meet the production schedule.
  • Coordinate transfers from outside warehouses to meet the production schedule.
  • Coordinate and execute packaging and ingredient requirements for all conversion customers.
  • Work collaboratively with the Graphic Arts Project Manager for the development and redesign of new and existing items.
  • Maintain supplier and new item set up in the AS 400.
  • Supply internal and external customers with packaging and ingredient inventories as required.
  • Process packaging and ingredient returns as necessary and related credit memo associated with the return.
  • Work collaboratively with warehouse personnel to research and resolve all inventory discrepancies.
  • Coordinate physical and cycle counts of packaging and ingredients materials and reconcile discrepancies.

What You Can Offer
  • An Associate Degree in purchasing or a related area, or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • One to three years of purchasing or related office experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of customers, products, and suppliers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines.
  • Must have good mathematical and analytical skills, problem solving ability, and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of the AS400 computer system, personal computers, Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Good typing and data entry skills.
