Compensation:

This position is hourly, and the starting pay rate is $21.00/hour with eligibility for a afternoon shift premium of $1.50/hr where applicable (DC roles only), and eligibility for an incentive target of $$1,500.00, which is contingent upon achieving both individual and company performance objectives.

The pay range above is not a guarantee of compensation but reflects the potential total compensation for this role at the time of this posting based on the assigned job grade.  Actual compensation will vary depending on factors such as geographic work location, relevant experience and individual skills.  The stated range is a reasonable estimate and may change over time; final compensation may fall above or below the range provided.  Grainger reserves the right to amend, modify, or discontinue its compensation and benefits programs at any time, in accordance with applicable law.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (You Will):

  • Deliver product to destination in a safe manner
  • Load and unload freight on a regular basis
  • Complete circle checks of vehicles daily before driving and complete daily logs as required
  • Ensure proper usage of straps/ropes/strapping/banding and tie downs to minimize damage in transportation
  • Report all accidents/incidents/near misses to leader
  • Fill packing slips in order off the printer, taking into consideration priority shipments and delivery times
  • Pack orders according to shipment requests and to prevent damages and follow all messages and ship dates
  • Maintain cleanliness in warehouse
  • Place packages in appropriate staging area with packing slip in delivery bin
  • Assist counter area, receiving and other warehouse personnel as required
  • Conduct circle checks of forklifts
  • Assist with special warehouse project work as required
  • Follow all safety protocol in compliance with WFS Health and Safety policies and procedures
  • Follow all Safety protocol of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • All other duties as assigned

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS (You Have):

  • Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent experience required
  • Possession of a valid G license required; valid DZ license would be considered an asset
  • Clean driver’s abstract
  • Experience in a warehouse environment, shipping/receiving, driving, etc. preferred
  • Previous forklift experience would be considered an asset
  • Team-player and ability to work independently
  • Excellent organizational and housekeeping skills
  • Must have a winning attitude that makes the team better
  • Proven skills in accuracy and attention to detail
  • General knowledge of computers, email, typing skills, etc.
